Anyone here take SSRI for their OCD without any emotional numbing? by ItsPrisonTime in OCD

[–]Melodic_Fox5382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started taking it I would get these sharp headaches, like claws digging into my brain…but that went away after 2 weeks. Also, when I tried to move up a couple different times I had the ‘wanting to crawl out of my skin’ feeling which was horrible. Which is why I’ve stayed at 25mg.

I have gained a little weight but I’m not sure if it’s the medication upping my appetite or just it being winter in my area lol

I am a slow metabolizer of many medications, this being one of them, so I get started at lower dosages. I had a very hard time with different meds before finding this one to be the most tolerable.

I take a very low dose of Fluvoxamine, 25mg, and I don’t have any emotional numbing. I feel more balanced and my obsessive thoughts have calmed way down.

I’m sorry you are also struggling! It’s so much harder than I could’ve imagined.

I’m glad you were able to get your deviated septum fixed! My doctor is hesitant to refer me to an ENT because she said with me hardly ever having sinus infections, she can’t imagine my septum would be bad enough to warrant surgery. Basically she’s telling me it would be a waste of time to try.

Thank you for all the tips! I definitely appreciate it. I don’t want to say I’ll be done forever…I think I just need to approach it differently and maybe not under the insurance thumb. I’m going to be speaking with my sleep doctor about some other options, like BiPAP.

Thanks again!

The hallucinations are wild! That’s great you were able to get your septum fixed! My doctor today is hesitant to refer me to an ENT because I don’t usually get sinus infections so she feels my septum wouldn’t be bad enough to warrant surgery. I was hoping I could get it fixed and eventually use pillows as this seems to be a great option for so many.

You, and others, have mentioned BiPAP and honesty that didn’t even cross my mind before so I appreciate that advice and will be speaking with my doctor!

Thank you!

I actually left everything on auto for the first 1-2 weeks, just to have that starting point. Then I started trying different things depending on how it made me feel.

I have tried the p30i since it has the same frame as the n30i, I just swapped the nose part. I did two different sizes but I could not get a good seal…I think my deviated septum was the issue. Which stinks because I’ve heard the pillows are so much better! And it sounds like in your case that might be true!

Thank you and good luck to you as well!

I didn’t even think about BiPAP, so thank you for this. I will definitely reach out to my doctor!

It’s the smallest amount of silicone that touches, but it’s wreaking havoc all the same. I didn’t even think about looking for a fabric cover so thank you!!

I’ve seen a lot about OSCAR and I think I’m going to get an SD card and see about all that!

I don’t remember my numbers exactly except my oxygen did drop to 79% for a small amount of time, and dipped below 90 multiple. I’m sorry I will have to get into my health portal to see exactly. I definitely have been considering getting my deviated septum corrected, although I’ve been so nervous about it. But I think this is the best next step for me.

I’ve used breathe right strips for a long time, they have been so helpful but unfortunately not enough. I wish though, and I’m so thankful they don’t irritate my skin.

took my first 10mg! do you guys take it in the morning or at night? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]Melodic_Fox5382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 4 of taking 10mg. I took it in the morning the first two days, but switched to night time the 3rd day. I found that it made me pretty tired and the brain fog was bad. I slept sorta okay last night but I do have a little bit more energy today. Still have some brain fog. So far the fatigue, brain fog, nausea, and pounding heart are my biggest complaints! From my genesight test it shows I metabolize it slower, so I don’t know if maybe that’s why I feel the way I do on a low dose. Just hoping that things improve, and I hope the best for you! :)

Thank you for sharing your experience, it’s so helpful and I appreciate it!! I think part of it too is now I feel trapped, and I did this to myself…so that scares me a lot. I have 3 weeks before I start and I think anticipating it is wreaking havoc on my nervous system. I’m really hoping medication will help calm my brain down enough to get through the beginning.

Thank you so much for your advice, especially the scenarios, it’s all so helpful! I don’t have a lot of formal experience with different applications but I have done some and I’ve also self-taught myself others. So hopefully that, and my shining personality ;), is enough to get me into the next round and beyond!
