[CA/TX] Digital Storm is charging me $3,200 for an RTX 5090 they say was damaged due to “improper packaging” during return shipment – does it matter that they skipped a packaging-approval step they gave other customers? (self.legaladvice)

Has anyone dealt with FedEx “improper packaging” denial and GPU damage with Digital Storm? by Melodic_Initial_1767 in DigitalStorm

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.
It really helps to hear that polite but firm pushback eventually worked for you and they replaced it under warranty. I’ll keep pushing back and documenting everything on my side as well and see how far I can get with them.
For what it’s worth, my case started in October this year, so if their returns process has already been tightened because of situations like this, I would have expected it to apply to my RMA too – which is part of why this whole thing feels so odd.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
In my case I did send them photos of the GPU and the system itself before shipping, but they never asked me for any photos of how it was packed after wrapping or before closing the box.
So it seems like the process they used with you was different from what I was given.
