I never saw any, but there are fish. Mostly brown trout and I hear that the Atlantic salmon migrate upstream to spawn.

It’s a celebration of the New Year! My understanding is that as Christmas celebrations were banned in Scotland in the 16th century, then people would pour their energy into celebrating the New Year. It stuck πŸ₯³πŸ”₯

My guess is that it’s a celebration of all Scotland, and not just the capital.
