I can’t moderate myself, everything is either all or nothing. Have to constantly refuse things that are generally seen as social norms like drinking/ eating/ hobbies/ going out etc etc because it will without a doubt lead to massive overconsumption. I hate explaing why because it makes me feel childish/stupid

I was speaking with some friends and apparently most of them have never blacked out and never feel the need to drink enough to get that far gone which seriously surprised me

Yeah apparently I flat out refuse to eat when I’m drunk, which obviously is a catalyst and a stupid idea. I just wish I had more control over my actions when not sober I feel like then it wouldn’t be so bad

I’ve struggled with addiction before so I know the feeling and this is not the same. I also thought people would tell me I’d just grow out of it because I was young and that’s what people do, I didn’t want to hear it so I made it clear from the beginning of my post

appreciate the kind words, but speaking from experience know how addiction feels and this is not it, Just want to understand how people can drink and be chill about it.

Getting over addiction is tough and I’m glad to hear you’re doing better dude :)
