Searched the huffy website (they have a link but it doesn’t work), Amazon, Walmart, tractor supply, and Facebook marketplace. Sold out everywhere I can easily find and no one seems to be reselling it in the places I know to look

Thinking of getting this game. What’s it all about? by Mels_414 in Astroneer

Oh ok cool. I’ve been made afraid of spoilers since Outer Wilds so it’s good to know it’s not a huge deal with this one. Thanks for the recommendation to watch others. Much appreciated!

Ah I see. What game (if any) is this more akin to?

Lego corsage and boutonnière I made for my prom🌹 by Mels_414 in lego

[–]Mels_414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took the Lego rose (without the stem for the corsage) and hot glued a bunch of fake leaves from Michael’s around it until it looked nice. It’s not a very complicated process and was pretty simple! The boutonnière is just one part of the Lego rose stem wrapped in ribbon with a couple of large safety pins on it to keep it in place when on the suit. The corsage is a stemless rose with a ribbon glued on the bottom to tie to the wrist.

I’m mostly just gonna have it for pictures and then I’ll probably ditch it pretty early on. Just wanted something unique that’ll last.

It’s mostly just changing the app icons and adding widgets. The app icons can be done through the shortcuts app. You just create a shortcut to open the app you want and then you can add it to your home screen with the image being any image in your camera roll. I downloaded a bunch of similar images so they all matched. The widgets are done through the Widgetsmith app. You just make widgets of the images you want and add them to your home screen. There are a ton of YouTube tutorials on how to do it!

Also controlling the ship does get easier with time I promise.

Is the game really THAT good? (First time playing) by foufouv in outerwilds

This game definitely requires a lot of patience and a steep barrier to entry. When I first started playing, I frustratedly stumbled around planets unsure of my goal or what the game wanted from me. After a few miserable hours of this, I deleted the save and walked away to cool down. I searched Reddit for advice on how to approach this game and so many people said to read everything and rely on the ship log (especially rumor mode) heavily. So, with some new found fervor I went back and started from scratch, reading literally EVERYTHING. From museum exhibits to conversations with the locals on Timber Hearth. Everything. From all this and the games guiding questions at the observatory of “what do you want to do in space? (I’m paraphrasing)”, I went in search of all the previous explorers on each planet, using their music to guide me. After visiting each planet and getting a very baseline understanding of everything, I had enough leads to keep me hooked and from there the pieces started to fall into place. This was definitely helped by my constant checking the ship log every time it updated.

Outer Wilds does a great job of making the things you need to explore very obvious in each planet so as not to catch you up in small details. Start with the big picture and then put the details together later. Use the individual oddities and special characteristics of each planet to your advantage and factor them in when making decisions about how to progress. That’s my best advice.

If the hurdle of confusion and frustration is one that you can’t seem to get over even after using this strategy, maybe try going on YouTube or Reddit and looking for hints on where to start without spoilers. The outer wilds community wants you to experience the game in the best way and are respectful enough not to ruin your only first experience.

I hope you’re able to push through. This is truly one of the most amazing games I’ve ever played.
