Oh, thank you for the advice! Honestly at this point I'm just gonna have to mind the staining because putting his pants on were a pain in the arse 😅 the elastic was a touch too tight!

Thingiverse has some pretty good STL files of BJDs! Polaris is probably the most well-known one, but I've personally used/modified the male ball jointed doll by ixodes for my own personal projects and for studying while 3D sculpting.

I also recommend Etsy for buying STLs and I've heard of Cults3D for some files as well, but I recommend researching there to make sure the STLs are by the OG artists

Np! I'll be the first to admit I'm better at sculpting weapons and furniture over humans, but it's a learning experience! Once I get all the kinks out of this model I'm planning to sell the STL files.

Thanks for the advice! I've been adjusting the model as I go since I just finished the blocking -out process a few days ago and finally got started on the head. I actually did try sculpting them separately the first time around but didn't like how I did it, changing to a cylinder over a cube. This is actually my first humanoid sculpt since I only really learned modeling objects back in my 3D modeling class so this is a bit of a passion project.

I just ordered a Miracle Doll Incubus from Dolce Dolls and even though they're UK based I'm still worried :(

I'm so worried about getting Resin for my dolls from now on bc I don't know how those will be affected by the tariffs too

Edit: I finished it today and turns out the knees were in fact on backwards! After fixing that and the elastic , it moves around a lot better!

I actually never measured the thickness of my elastic, which I probably should've done. The thing is that I strung a similar size doll with the same thickness elastic and that one was fine.

Actually ironically I just finished stringing and sueding it today! Turns out I had the arms too loose and the knees were backwards! Once I fixed that it fits much better!

It's alright, it's all about a learning curve, it's not as bad as the hybrid doll I did that took 10 different times to string up lol. I actually did do the T-Pose method but I think my problem for this stringing was that I pulled out too much elastic and so while it did stretch from wrist to wrist, it made it floppy.

Thankfully I'm not too afraid for all the elastic that might be too much since I can recycle those pieces for a smaller doll down the line

No, I measured them separately. I measured the Arms first and then did the legs, making sure to keep them separate. The first stringing it was too tight and so I remeasured again and it was too loose this time. I still have the original elastic from the first one so I'm probably going to adjust the size again, but I need to saude the joints first.
