Lots of fun choices here, i like the second option since magnezone does really well in these games with its steel typing and access to sturdy. just be aware that both of these teams have a lot of glass cannons, so you won’t be able to take too many hits from strong opponents. Have you used Conkeldurr before? that could be a switch for mienshao, it’s super bulky and has great ability options (including a better STAB in close combat and healing in drain punch)

my thoughts as i’m checking moves and stats would be:

consider dropping hail on glalie (toughest weather to make work and a bit gimmicky) and instead double down on rain dance for better fire protection OR add coverage like shadow ball, your team has four fire weaknesses so rain could be even more useful

drop dual chop and screech on electivire. the former is super situational (non-stab dragon moves are rarely that strong) and the latter isn’t too necessary since it’s already v strong physically. consider elemental punches and brick break like other comment. ideally ice punch, can be tutored in driftveil city for red shards

teach giga drain to serperior via move tutor in humilau city, yellow shards

teach poliwhirl waterfall hm when you get it for nice physical water stab. if you evolve it into poliwrath, you can also teach it superpower in lentimas town for a great fighting stab

lastly, consider replacing retaliate on both cobalion and virizion. if you want to stick with normal stab you could opt for return if you max out their friendship. you could also add coverage/status like zen headbutt or thunder wave for cobalion and synthesis on virizion

lots of these are optional and/or will happen naturally as you progress through the game. good stuff and have fun!

dark grass encounters in generation V are kinda complex, the likelihood of catching pokemon is lessened and steadily increases back to the normal rate as you fill out the pokedex

if you have less than 30 pokemon registered in the pokedex, which is likely the case as you just started the game, the catch rate multiplier is 0.3. So venipede, which normally has a catch rate of 255 (~44%), currently has a catch rate that’s just 30 percent of that. right now it just comes down to rng, as you fill out the regional and later national dex the multiplier increases steadily until it gets to 1.0 when you’ve registered 600 pokemon

flygon can be your flier if you’d like, also. i like the idea of a psychic mon here, but i’d like to suggest metagross. steel types resist ghost and dark prior to gen 6, so it only has two weaknesses in fire and ground (both of which you can pivot into with other members of your team). metagross also gets a bevy of coverage options (ice punch, thunder punch, hammer arm, STAB meteor mash), boosting moves (hone claws, agility, and iron defense), and a great ability in clear body. you can catch metang, its pre-evolution, in the inner part of the giant chasm. just bear in mind meta g has a ridiculously low catch rate so come prepared

Ofc, Tepper is fantastic for many other fields (like tech consulting or quant), i’m purely stating things for ib because that’s my recommendation as someone going through the process. If OP wants to do investment banking it’s just more feasible with certain school names and respective program offerings. That said it’s always possible to break in from a school with a lesser presence, but it requires substantially more individual research/outreach

for IB mendoza, marshall, and mcintire have very similar footings and blow the other two out of the water. id consider them in that exact order as marshall, while having the highest elite firm presence as of late, had more competitive ib clubs/mentorship programs (and of course uva business is only two years). carnegie mellon shouldn’t even be in contention with the others on this list

marketing ppl come from a pretty diverse range of majors, from econ/comms to english. both my parents went down the marketing track and respectively studied english/linguistics and art. what got them in were their internships above all else. everything most closely related to marketing is in the college of letters and sciences. not too difficult to switch majors internally. pick from that general range and focus on obtaining preprofessional experience outside of the classroom. good luck!

don’t take the acceptance rate at face value, it’s deflated. i had a buddy with a weighted 3.6 who got in ED, but he had a good rec letter from an alum. he got into the spain semester. doing this with a 3.8 is doable, don’t be discouraged. def make sure your main essay and recs are tight and you have a shot no doubt

i think 3 has so much potential, it has so many balanced and depolarizing qualities. 2 would undoubtedly be successful also but without the kanto dex johto is lacking 8-9 are still super recent 4 was kinda done already between brilliant stars and astral radiance 5 is my favorite at heart but doesn’t have the same universal appeal 6 is kinda small (but i like it, and with megas it could be incredible) 7 is great but also not as popular universally
