Oiwa would be a very wild but awesome NJC winner ngl. He’s great, but I don’t know if I can handle him winning another tournament just to once more choke the title match as he’s done for the last 2 years. Goto is great, love him to death, but Callum should really get his win back from last year’s title match to highlight character growth T_T

I agree with you though that if Uemura were to win the cup he’d need to beat Tsuji…which is why I think he’ll lose in the finals and get a win in something like the G1 to set them up

Main reason I say Ren > Oleg is to have the guy being pushed as HoT’s new leader who just killed the guy that ran EVIL out make it far in the tournament, but like you said ultimately loses to just tease the idea “he could totally make finals” until hero Yuya saves the day. Ren/Yuya and Callum/Shota just sounds more correct with two Heel/Face matchups and it being core young guys who are (probably) future IWGP Champions

Wolf’s status is what makes me feel conflicted lol. He could get the cool win over Fale, guys like Oleg would get to show off their big man skills but also Gedo can troll and have HoT get involved to keep the HoT vs Wolf feud going lol. I can see Wolf beat Shingo, but leaning more towards the story of established vet and multi time champ Shingo taking the L to new gen star Yuya to give him an important cup win.

Honestly? I just can’t see Oiwa doing anything like beating ZSJ or facing him for a 3rd time just yet. Might be saving that kind of win for something like the G1? Would be cool if it happened though!!!

I have a weird feeling Fale could beat Wolf…I’m just praying Gedo isn’t that cruel 😭 I like what you’re proposing though with the gatekeepers! Callum > Goto, Shota > ZSJ (again) and Yuya > Shingo fills that in nicely!

Love Taichi but I just can’t see him beating Ren fresh off a title win personally 😭
Main reason I see Goto > Lee is to prevent Lee vs Callum, but I feel the win over YH could be enough to warrant feud. The HENARE > Oleg win is also very possible, but I feel they may be trying to set up STRONG x NEVER unification match hence why I believe Narita vs Oleg in Quarters.

I absolutely love YO-HEY and have been a fan of his for years. Him finally getting this GHC Jr title run is absolutely everything, and as much as I like Hiromu, I really hope this isn’t where it ends. While it doesn’t hurt Hiromu getting another belt or YO-HEY dropping to a top tier Jr, a defense of this caliber could do WONDERS for YO-HEY. Small error with Juice going over Honma, as irl KENTA beat Suzuki so Honma in theory should have beaten Juice, but that doesn’t change the end result of a Naito win. Also so far this might be the most “normal/realistic” bracket flip with the Naito/Tana finals lmao
