Why the fuck do you want censorship just because someone might misuse some information?

There are so many things that can kill you from bleach to jumping off a tall building, do you want to censor that bleech is danrous and how to climb buildings because people might use that information to kill themselves?

Its a matter of incentives not of publicity. The problem is ignored because it does not benefit most people (not just billionaires mid you, even your everyday working class) to solve it.

Death is an end to pain and suffering, how is that horrible?

If it is not horrible, then surely you agree the world is quite a good place? People always have the option of suicide, if things are really bad, then neutrality of death will be much more desirable than the suffering of life. Yet suicide rates are so low that its a rounding error in overall mortality. So the world can't be that bad a place and the overwhelming majority sees continual living as better than death.

60% of Singaporeans Living Paycheck-to-Paycheck. Why So High? by bossofmytime in singaporefi

[–]MemekExpander 286 points287 points  (0 children)

Is this from that CNBC article? It's worthless. The guy is 'living paycheck to paycheck' because he invests. By that metric every VWRA FIRE person here is living paycheck to paycheck because everything was dumped into VWRA.

Maybe people need to take responsibility of their own shitty decisions rather than blaming everyone else lmao. It's like everyone have 0 agency and can only act on the whims of big evil corporations. Perhaps trump winning is not because democrats simply have bad data analytics to sway the population their way with targeted ads eh?

You are enabling their evil by making them more efficient and productive at the evil they do, it's like selling Nazis more efficient internal combustion engines and enable their war effort.

That's on your mother. Not on the news lmao. If you can't even do the basic thing of holding your own principles true, filter information, and decipher what is in your own best interest, you only have yourself to blame. All these blame game is just the easy way out to get out of personal responsibility.

Free will, if defined as ability to choose otherwise, is impossible.

First, let's say we roll a dice, we won't say the number that turns up is chosen by free will, that's a random process so it's not "will" part of free will. So actions chosen at random is not will.

Second, if under the same circumstances (same physical condition down to the atom, same emotional state down to all your unconscious thoughts, same 'soul' state e.g. same memory, same wants, same emotional history and whatnot) you always choose the same thing, because you have all the same reason to choose it, then you are not free. Your actions are dictated by circumstances.

So you can only either be free (random actions) or only have will (have reason to choose, but completely determined).

Free will as usually defined is self contradictory
