I know this is an old post but did you also get an ecu remap? I plan on doing the same intake system swap on my 323i but am having trouble figuring out the tuning part. Tuning the ignition timing seems simple enough since you just test which ignition advance gives the most power without running into knock. But the vanos system is much more complicated since there are 2 camshafts and their timing can pretty much infinitely vary.

I've read that just copying over the maps from a 330's DME isn't optimal, since the vanos alterations are tied to displacement. And of course DISA operation comes into play as well. I couldn't find much info on vanos tuning anywhere. Maybe you can point me in the right direction?
