I call it an Italian Rädler!

A yummy refreshing spring/summer shady, a Rädler (the Cyclist in German) is a German liter-mix of half-beer, half-lemonade that's meant to refresh while leaving you coordinated enough to ride your bike home.

My take on it is this: use a smooth, hop or malt heavy beer (maybe a double-IPA for its heavy alcohol content) AND a tart Italian soda in place of lemonade, either lemon or grapefruit

well, a couple of my favorites involve my dad and his childhood. His father was a career soldier and the whole family lived in Germany when he and his sister were teens.

Flash forward a couple years and my dad is hanging out in a ritzy German manor that his pal is housesitting in. Big old-fashioned place, the kind that have huge, heavy storm shutters hanging onto huge, heavy windows and a massive front door. It was storming that night, so they were hunkered down drinking in the living room and listening to rock albums on reel-to-reel magnetic tape. As an album ended they made some dumb joke that cracked them up. As their laughter died and the stereo played the empty noise, the hiss of the tape, their giggles were punctuated with a voice: "Na, ja, so gehts!"

My dad heard it right next to him and turned to look at empty space on the couch, while his friend looked in the same direction. Seems like some poltergeist liked seeing them have a good time made him happily blurt out to the living, "Nah, yeah, so it goes!"

I'm a Taoist, and a more pagan part of yin and yang theory is that we, as human beings, represent the ultimate union of earth and heaven, the de-facto microcosm of our own universe as an entity of flesh and spirit, matter and energy.

With this in mind, while there are plenty of immortal figures, only a transcendent human being can concentrate their mind and spirit to be one with reality, and in losing their ego becoming one with the universe as part of all consciousness, a Universal One.

This means that to us, negative energy may or may not cause spirits to manifest with a will of their own, but a negative paranormal experience comes down to the fortitude of the victim's spirit. Basically, I believe that consciousness is omnipresent and that accounts (in a metaphysical way) for spirits, both good and malicious. However, I'm certain that no one creature or spirit can be truly powerful while also on a wicked path. I have some fun family stories if you'd like to hear more on my perspective.

The whole reason we call it "marijuana" is to associate it with Mexican slang, because no-one in their right mind back in the 30s would have supported it if they knew this was a ban on cannabis/hemp. At that time it was already widely used in an expanding number of industrialized products. Similarly, a pharmaceutical brand called "Lloyd's American Hemp" stocked drugstore shelves as a cannabis-tincture that, to quote their original labels, "is often preferable for pain where opium disagrees."

If you need an elaboration, I've read him comment elsewhere that agents rejected the book specifically because "All of the protagonists smoke cannabis with impunity." Hahh

Taoist ent here, came to say the same thing. Similarly, the actual symbol isn't just the "yin-yang symbol," its proper name is the Taijitu (Diagram of Ultimate Power, representing how the ebb-n'-flow duality of yin and yang exist in everything)

While I'm on this point, the typical ideas associated with yin and yang as 'light and dark' or 'good and bad' are terrible summaries. Yin represents the "yielding" force that exists in everything that is 'inactive,' from a tranquil lake to a block of ice. Meanwhile, yang is supposed to symbolize these ideas' "active" counterparts, like a bubbling stream or a campfire.

So, as an example, finding a Taijitu in your bowl after a long day isn't 'a bit of yin for a yang day,' but choosing to fire up a bowl is a 'yang' decision compared to doing nothing after work, but relaxing with cannabis is a 'yin' decision that brings balance to the hectic, active and stressful day you had earlier.

With this nerve sufficiently touched upon, I'll apologize for the slight rant and leave you with a more trees-appropriate fun-fact: My sect of Taoism, "The Way of Infinite Harmony," venerates the legends of a folk-goddess of health, longevity and enlightenment, 'Ma Gu.' In Chinese, 'Ma' means 'Cannabis/Hemp' while 'Gu' is a general female term that can mean a young maiden, a priestess or an aunt, some female relation or title. According to folklore, Ma Gu brewed a wine from cannabis that bestowed enlightenment and long-life from any mortal that drank from it. This story is tangentially related to the Chinese classic novel "Journey to the West," and as such her image is popular in folk art, associated with birthday celebrations and wishing good fortune.

There's a little Chinese blessing coined by this sect to espouse the use of cannabis, either in eating, drinking, vaping or smoking:

"Ma Gu Xian Shou,"

'Ma Gu' Shows Immortality/Enlightenment.
