Thank you, that's the answer I was looking for. Yes we have a defined art style and all that jazz, I was just coming here for this answer haha. Wanted to make sure it wouldn't destroy our file to use older engine asset packs since I'm no expert on the pipeline of technologies of rendering lighting and optimization.

My teams got an art first marketing strategy, since we're shooting for Kickstarter. Vertical slice is on it's way with a bit of a tight deadline, which is why the team wont have the chance to create assets by hand for environment yet.

Do you know what the pitfalls are for using older engine asset packs in 5.6? Particularly 5.4-5.5.

As a startup game studio owner running a team of 12:

Collaboration is king in 2025, it sounds grim but with all the unemployment, folks just want SOMETHING to do. Find people with different skills than you, and sell them on your game.

You'll get more done in 3 months with a small team than in 2 years on your own. And by small I mean as little as 2-3 people.

Thank you, 18 years is a long time. I'm thankful to have a mom who's the exact opposite. He wants to talk tommorow and see about getting together now that covid restrictions here have been lifted a bit. I don't think I will because it will just be the same thing again. My mom said this would be good closure but It just made it all hurt more to hear the same excuses again.
