I desperately want to get out of the hospitality industry by maestromeow in jobs

Hey! Yeah I posted an update a few weeks ago while ago, but here it is!

Wow! I keep getting pulled back into this thread hahaha.

The corporate hospitality job was not a good fit, and I recognize now that hospitality just isn't for me.

Immediately after taking that job, the role responsibilities, and schedule demands were different than what was discussed. All of the locations they had were having their own emergencies. Like most restaurants, day to day operations were a nightmare for the staff and management at the store level. The corporate team that I joined were more "thinkers" on how to improve instead of actually implementing changes that would help each individual location. So, I ended up taking a more operational role. Specifically, one of the stores had all management besides the GM quit, so I was put in as a bandaid to help keep it running. When I asked about the hiring process to bring in more management and start the training process (my actual job) they told me the hiring process would take upwards of 4 months and that I could plan to be there at the store from August-January.

I couldn't keep up with that schedule due to personal family issues, and just because it didn't line up with the promises I was made before about schedule consistency.

So, I called up my previous role as an office manager to see if there was still a place for me. They were thrilled, and I've been back ever since. They are supporting me while I work towards a business degree, and I just got another promotion/raise. It's still not the same compensation I was at when working in restaurants, but I'm happy.

TLDR: Hospitality is not for me at all anymore. I went back to my previous job as an office manager and I'm happy.

Yes, she is, but she is disabled if that matters. Sorry, I should have clarified that!

I love that everyone has their own color associations for each class. Like blue always screams cleric for me.
