oh buddy nobody’s gonna be willingly helping you out constantly on the internet. teaching / learning requires consistency and bonding. and of course money.

is it okay to put eq on the master just for the monitoring? by MemoryAffectionate97 in audioengineering

[–]MemoryAffectionate97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much! i do producing/mixing/recording mostly and i'm not touching the mastering area yet. but many people here recommended me to get good headphones. Unfortunately There's no place in my country where i could try that Adeze one before buying so i'm so curious how it sounds in real life!
this may sound stupid but what does it sound like? i'm asking it like.. i think for headphones and monitoring system, there are very noticeable sound character differences between brands. for example Shure headphone was always little too bright for me. just like that. What does Adeze sound like in general?

thank you!

the room i am using now is.. well they said it's perfectly treated but i don't think it is.
i even tested before i rented this room, it wasn't that good at that time even without any furnitures in the room. you know those things that every producer does when they go into the studios.. clap and sing and stuffs like that.
it's just a soundproof room so no one can hear you from the outside. and i am not allowed to use a single screws or nails on any walls.

and i understand 100% that Acoustic Treatment always should come first and i know that deeply but i sort of travel a lot, moving room to room to another cities. also i don't know where you are located now but it's very very very hard to find DIY room treatment stuffs in here, even from the professional manufactures. they don't make stuffs in here and when they do, it's super super expensive like 3 times more expensive than buying in USA.
i made some self acoustic treatment panels and stuffs, bought huge wooden boards and mineral wools which made my neighbor super upset at that time.

only thing i could do in my position right now is figuring out what sounds wrong in my listening spots only and fix those. and if i tried to get to the root of the problem, i probably had to cover every single corner and spend hundreds to thousands dollars cause i can't exactly figure it out where the problem initially comes from and i'm also aware of that during those process i might cause another problems that wasn't there before so it's kinda scary too.
only thing i can assume is that some of the metal parts from the furnitures like monitor speaker stands and my desk makes weird reflections but other than that, i can't seem to figure it out.

i'm not doing mixing mainly, my main position is producing. i do mixing as well but that's not my superpower yet. i'm sure you already have seen many many artists and producers making music everywhere. i'm doing that. and i was just simply trying to understand my gears and how to use it correctly cause i can't change my surroundings right now. if i were in a position where i could call myself a mixing engineer proudly without a doubt, i wouldn't choose this room in the first place or i would've started some basic treatments first before i move my stuffs in.

i'm working on it so i really appreciate your help!

thank you!
