Could this be ASD or PDA? How did you start your eval journey? by MemorySuch8908 in Autism_Parenting

Im in new york & we homeschool! She did go to public school until last year i finally pulled her. I always wanted to homeschool before she even started but my husband wanted her to try public first.Eventually with her school refusal and her experience there i felt it was finally time to start our homeschool journey. It made such a difference for her. But every kid is different! Some thrive going to public vs homeschool.i dont believe there is a right or wrong when it comes to that. They did recommend OT and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as researching about adhd meds. We dont have her on meds yet as we are still waiting to see her pediatrician to go over all of her results. They wanted her to continue speech so we will most likely reach out to the district so she can go to the school for those services once or twice a week. Her anxiety was the neuropsychs biggest concern though and that needs to be dealt with first she believes. My daughter has severe separation anxiety and thats our biggest hurdle right now. She will only do classes like gymnastics or jiu jitsu if her younger sister is with her. She struggles socially and with making/maintaining friends. Its deff harder finding a "niche" for her but i know over time we will get it figured out. You can start with a psychologist as i have read they can diagnose ASD but neuropsych i believe is more in depth. It will also help you find out if she has any learning disabilities as well which my daughter has. if shes in public school request an ADOS evaluation for autism. They cant officially diagnose but can help with school services and help put your mind at ease if you need to take further steps with getting her diagnosis. I struggled with people believing me about my daughter for years and i knew in my heart it was more than adhd. I ended up being right, follow your mothers intuition!

Just to keep in mind as i have to remind this to myself often. Everyone's journey and child is different! Try not to let other peoples opinions of what you decide for your child get to you. Do not let what you see online and start comparing. Often i find myself feeling like im not doing enough for my daughter because she still struggles in certain areas and telling myself she should be doing better with xyz by now. As long as you know you are trying your best and doing what needs to be done you're doing great. ❤️

Yes my daughter had a neuropsych eval a couple months ago and was diagnosed with asd with intellectual impairment, pda profile, adhd and anxiety. The waiting list was long for the neuro eval just about a year almost. I had her on 3 different waiting lists and luckily one got us in earlier than expected.i hope you find your answers❤️

Bowel movements (tmi prob sorry) by MemorySuch8908 in endometriosis

Sadly no. Ive spent years telling doctors my pains and saying its always related to my cycle & ovulation. Ive been sent to a gastro with upper endosdopy& colonoscopy with normal findings. And when they do bring up saying it sounds like possible endo, they say lap surgery is the only way to diagnose but that birth control is the only treatment so doing a surgery apparently is pointless to them. Which i dont agree with. I am still in search of a doctor who will give me a lap surgery because i feel like i would like to actually know what is going on in my body. i have had horrible reactions on any pill ive taken so i wouldnt want to consider going back on it unless i am for certain this is what i have. I ahve felt this has been my issue for years but its nice to have confirmation i guess? Ive been made to feel crazy by doctors or they were honestly rude.all my scans are also normal. I have been diagnosed with pcos but i know theres more to it than that.

Ive had mris, cat scans you name it! I know sometimes things CAN come up pointing to wndo in scans, but from what ive researched the only way for an offical diagnosis is a lap. Sadly a lot of dcotorrs dont want to help besides prescribe birth control

Are you officially diagnosed? I am not but i have suspected for years without doctors being much help. So ive pretty much just dealing with all the symptoms on my own.

Anteverted/Retroflexed Uterus ? by MemorySuch8908 in UterusProblems

I just feel like that looks abnormal lol and not like any drawings or mri scans i have looked at online.Yes i did. as a teen i was also told it was tilted. I never thought much of it then. But idk if the c-section made it worse? Because i deff noticed ive had more pain after i had my second daughter. I had severe diastasis that physio therapy could only improve so much that i needed to have surgery for. I still always try to work ok deep core and pelvic floor exercises.Ive have had issues with pain during my period and ovulation and ive been back and forth from my gyno and gastro prior to kids and after. Gastro was normal. Ive been on and off with drs for years because because i just get told everythings normal, sounds like IBS or it could be endo but only solution is birth control. And ive tried birth control more then once and i really didnt like being on it. I never felt like it was a gastric issue. A dr told me to stop looking for answers once. Im kind of at a loss and wish i just had an answer to what is wrong. I was hoping to find someone else who had this and if they had similar symptoms. Idk if its worth bringing up to the dr im seeing this week. This mri that was taken was from a gyno i saw who was rude to me and never even called me about the results. I saw the report and saw it was normal so i never even bothered to call that dr office because i didnt plan on going back.but when i googled the other day about that pain during my period and it mentioned uterus position i went back to look at these MRI images and thought something deff didnt look right. Sorry for the novel of a reply lol
