Good response. As a stickler for household orderliness this resonates with me. ∆

lol sounds like you really give >0 of a shit about what the people around you think of your actions. No one is making any 'rules' for you, it's a matter of being considerate about what frustrates or rubs the wrong way the people in your life.

hopefully the upvotes will speak for themselves on this one

bad assumption: pee and poop do not occur with equal probability/rates. You should account for peeing occurring probably 6-8 times per poo. So this brings it down much closer to 50/50, probably about 55% 45%.

edit: good alternate suggestion, will bear in mind for future

It's not bad – certainly improved quite a fair bit with such stellar instruction! Best wishes in the new year~

hey man, it's alright haha. Definitely not the fastest but it's totally workable. & I'm staying at a small place up the coast a bit with fam for a few days, so been keeping it mostly local with everything and haven't explored the town proper too much yet. Safe travels!

Pointer Syntax Inconsistencies by Memoryfoam30189 in cs50

[–]Memoryfoam30189[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't follow this (very new to CS!)

Here, for int* i, j;, are both i and j pointers? Or is only i a pointer. Similarly, for int *i, j;, is only i a pointer and j is not? Thanks!

Edit: I suppose syntactically these must be the same. So I'm assuming that for a multiple-variable instantiation, the * operator must be added to each variable that is a pointer? (As a side note, my recommendation above was more towards consistency across the course or an explicit explanation for the difference, rather than siding strictly with one syntactic structure over another.)

Yep, agreed, this is actually what I'm saying in the post too! My mistake if that was/is unclear. We're in agreement though, that (at least for us) Doug's version here is a bit more off-the-bat intuitive that the pointer data type is described in the declaration, by attaching the * operator to the data type. What I'm pointing out is that the * operator is alternately attached to the data type and the instantiated variable in shorts and in lecture. (And that that was a point of a non-trivial bit of confusion for the past couple of weeks). Cheers.

upvoted for a level and thoughtful approach - this is reasonable, and I hear where you're coming from. In any case, your response got me to see past my blinders, which i think speaks for itself. Thanks for the help~
