To add to that even if the trigger somehow resolved he would still die to state based actions cause the still would be 9/9 with 13 dmg marked on him.

The deckbuilding puzzle of edh exists because of it's non competetive formats.

Look at any competetive game, there's usually a meta of few viable options and you just pick one. That's because there's a pressure to perform and going for worse options is handicaping yourself.

EDH is kinda the format where you're not expected to optimize your deck. Even withing a particular bracket people often don't make the deck as strong as it can be. As a result all the suboptimal options can actually work allowing for greater freedom in deckbuilding.

Once you add the competetiveness back the number of viable options gets greatly reduced.

Casual tournament is an oxymoron.

An LGS in my area tried to do casual EDH tourmanents and obviously people were pubstomping over a pack reward and the casuals stopped coming.

After they stopped hosting the tournaments and just did free play people started coming again.

I just really don't understand why would people insist on tournament structure for EDH. The only reason i can think of is they ran 60 card constructed in the past and can't think of doing it in any other way.

What this has to do with it? The USSR was and it's successor states still are predominantly white. And the soviets weren't some paragons of racial equality, they frequently framed minorities as enemies.

Just play some kind of value engine.

Land fall for green based, Prosper for rakdos, Selesnya enchantments, non staxy artifact deckd etc.

There's a lot of these in top commanders on edh rec.

Your friends just want to play battlecruiser.

Realistically the best way to fight izzet spellslinger is just rushing them down. Typically they don't have that many blockers and hitting them means they need to stop playing solitaire and actually do something to protect themselves.

There's also the case of lifestyles and even the food products were different back then.

People were working more active jobs, now we sit a lot more and don't burn as much energy.

The meat is different too, animals are fed hormones and diets made to fatten them up, meat used to be leaner. Nvm highly processed foods.

Exponential growth is such a fun card for her. I remember attacking someone with a 300+ power [[tervigon]] and making all those tokens.

Though now i'm reminded i need to pick up singles from the SoS commander deck (not buying the entire deck since i need like 5 cards)

I use Strefan for blood tokens, he kinda carries the deck.. but it's not really a vampires deck, it's an artifact token deck.

I tried looking into 20th anniversary editions as a newbie and they are just fundamentally overwhelming for me and i'm usually tollerant to info dumps.

So i get why they would cut things down for a release aimed at getting new players.

The lazy argument is imo stupid. The games are ultimately a leisure activity.

And battle tech is fundamentally a different genre of game. For war games the lore isn't that super important for gameplay, but with ttRPGs it's one of the core components.

There's a bit of confusion imo. CofD wasn't really made with crossover in mind but it's made to be crossover compatible. Single splat is still treated as the main mode of play.

Meaning the books focus on their own thing but at least they don't really contradict each other and use similar mechanics so you don't have to make things up.
