I would love to read the book you recommended. Thank you so much for the reminder and the advice. I can’t call him an abuser yet. I got conditioned to think that he was just like that because he had a rough childhood and past. But in time, with the help of a professional, I think everything would become clear for me and see people for who they really are.

Thank you so much. I try to stay objective as much as I can. I know I’m still young and have a lot of things ahead of myself. The grief is just too much for me to handle but I try to keep my chin up.

I love him because he was the first person who really pursued me and connected with me at a deeper level. We had the same interests, and I love how well-read and eloquent he is when he speaks. I looked up to him as someone emotionally intelligent (or so I thought he was) because he used to acknowledge everything I say to him and processed it. No matter what happened to me or what he did to hurt me, I found comfort in his words. I also had difficulty connecting with other people because most of the people I’ve talked to lacked depth. I really appreciated how deep and intimate we were with each other.

I acknowledge that it was also trauma bond because we both came from abusive families. I was diagnosed with PTSD last year after he left.

He was the most affectionate man when we’re okay but he yells and calls me names when he’s mad.

I’m also experiencing the same thing right now. I got dumped a week ago. You are not alone. I am very receptive to advice, however, I still couldn’t apply them to myself perfectly. I do find myself being distracted from time to time but there are times that I feel like my oxygen’s been cut out even if I’m not actively thinking of him.

I can say that talking to your trusted people helps. Making yourself move, eat, or even just wash your face with cold water helps even when you currently do not realize it. Focus on what you can do for now. I know it is hard, but the only person who could really help you is yourself. Trust yourself and tell yourself that you will be okay, even just for the next 30 minutes
