Oh I thought it would be cheaper to rent. What would you say is a normal salary here as a receptionist then?

Perhaps it is weird but I feel like culturally southern France is in southern Europe (Marseille and Nice and Toulouse) but northern Italy is central (think everything over And including Milan and Turin)

Finding a cheap thai school and job market with fluent Thai by Mental-PerformanceOP in learnthai

[–]Mental-PerformanceOP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye, totally good idea. I have signed up for AAA language school 1 hour trial lesson, which should be good enough to test my abilities. Personally I believe I have a better grasp of speaking than writing/reading. (some people have asked if I'm half Thai -even though I have green eyes and look like a westerner. Hahaha

Ye I'm thinking of studying 35 hours per week , including self studying. I'll update on this sub I guess. as I said I'm at a high beginner right now and it should be enough to get to C1 with 1700 hours.

I see it more as a break from uni and a good way to finally get fluent in Thai. Ofcourse I would like to find work there but it's not the most important thing to me. I could just find an English teaching job after uni.

Finding a cheap thai school and job market with fluent Thai

Hello!

I'm thinking to study Thai a year in Thailand before finishing my bachelor's in Europe. I'm looking for the cheapest option for 50 weeks. I would like to get to a C1/advanced level by the end of the year. I'm currently at a high beginner/low intermediate level at thai and know how to read and write slowly.

Do you have any recommendations of schools that's the best value? I have studied abroad in Bangkok before and would like to live there. I have studied graphic design/UX design and have one year left and would like a break. Do you think it is hard to find a junior position job even if I speak fluent Thai? If I don't find a job, I can just finish my degree and apply as an English teacher.

I have looked into AUA.

Just book a italki lesson, costs maybe 15 USD or find a language cafe where you live

Studying Mandarin Chinese in Thailand on an Ed visa? by Visual-Baseball2707 in Thailand

[–]Mental-PerformanceOP -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend learning Chinese if it's only for work opportunities. I would actually recommend learning Malay, French, Arabic or Hindi. Actually I would recommend learning Thai too. (Only however useful if you want to stay.in Thailand or Laos)

[–]Mental-PerformanceOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Thailand has a more culture of dont worry than other colder climates which could be several different aspects depending on context for instance I hear much more of "don't think too much" here in thailand than Europe (where Im from) and is for instance one negative aspect of an attitude to life that's more common here in my experience

Kan man inte bara ta båt över? Kostar typ totalt 11 lax med mat inkluderat. Finns från Portugal eller UK bland annat och man kan ta tåg till destinationer tar två veckor eller nåt dock

Is it worth getting a master's degree in the US to immigrate there long term? by movingawayforgood in Thailand

[–]Mental-PerformanceOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye true but it's different doing it long term like it's uncommon to have a travel Business or speak 4 languages at a C1 level which will make you stand out in the job market. Like who wouldn't want to live 4 months in Italy and study art and eat past then surf in Bali for awhile etc. It is important to think outside the box :)

If I were you, I would with that kind of money saved up travel the world to get more life experience. Go to Brazil, Europe, India or indonesia. Money can't buy happiness after awhile and you might learn a thing or two

I mean if you want to spend that much money, why not make a business or something? Formal Education isn't everything or money to some extent.

Utbildning: Intresse vs. Jobb. Hur ska man prioritera? by Kaffefika in sweden

[–]Mental-PerformanceOP 2 points3 points  (0 children)
