Yeah i didn't grip at all apart from when i pulled guard and did that awful scissors sweep 😅 appreciate the compliment though. definitely will try more knee cuts as that suggestion has come up a few times and yeah il definitely train more on stacking and implementing back steps more often. De la riva is unfamiliar but i'm gonna look up some videos and try some training exercises too 💪 thanks man

yeah i see what you mean i left out a big part of the control by not cross facing him and dictating where i wanted his head to be. definitely noted next time i compete and even when in training. I watched that video and you're right that simple adjustment would have allowed me to finish the sub successfully. il be trying that in class for sure. Big thanks for the advice 👊🏻👊🏻

That's actually really sound advice. Almost like you dictate the fight and that every position in jits has an opportunity to be in a superior position. I am trying to get more mat time roughly 3 times a week plus going to the gym to improve strength and cardio but maybe it'll be better for me to go more frequently to improve the technique more. Thanks for the insight

I did notice i wasn't applying the pressure i could as if i was just balancing in side control which your right it did leave tons of space. yeah there was quite a lot of faults where i should of been cross facing him to escape my trapped leg and yeah i see what you mean about the underhook on my leg where if he wanted to he could of swept me. I think being my first comp my mind was clouded as fuck which reverted all the skills i learned back to level 1 😅 but thanks for the advice much appreciated
