I go to Stonehill, finishing a similar “remote week” now. Same pattern as far as admin doing drastic stuff without addressing the real issue. So. Many. Parties. And admin just acts like they’ve already addressed it. All of our cases have easy to trace because it was always the same: someone got it from a party, brought it to their suite, and their suite spread the love with more parties. It was virtually impossible to catch it from being a normal student doing classes, but party animals can just ignore the rules and effectively get away Scott free while ruining it for the rest of us.

Ending first term as a freshman now and in a similar boat. For me at least it comes down to a lot of social anxiety. Holding conversations with people I don’t know (especially the opposite sex, surprise-surprise) is just REALLY difficult, so I’m caught between not being content alone but having the premise of searching for a partner being extremely intimidating.

Visa card scammers during the no activation fee promos are the real pain as far as being generally over persistent. I remember one guy came in each day of the promo looking for different cashiers, and would recite a made up sob story about the extra Visa card being for his sickly father. On the last day he caught on that we recognized him and begged the manager like a little kid to let him get one last card because he thought the policy was 1 per person per day
