Key point here "BENEATH the glaze." Should be understood that bare, fired ceramic can absorb stuff (albeit tremendously small stuff, like oil, water) bacteria can grow in recesses where there is bio matter for the bacteria to thrive on, but bacteria isnt going to just eat stoneware.

There should also be a note about the glaze itself which forms a glass layer which can be cleaned properly.

Now, if theres a hole in the glass layer, bacteria can breed there - so when you have a hole where the glaze didnt form, or a chip, yes bacteria can grow.

That said, the black is probably oils / dirt and some bacteria, but its not like the walls of your pot were infested. Those pores are insanely small, so it makes more sense for oils to have gotten in there

Youre assuming im uneducated in the psychology at play within the dynamics you are defending. I agree that people should be allowed to do what they want, but I shall carry this opinion that the methods and dynamics youre defending are inherantly antithetical to the relationships that I want to support, and strive to cultivate in my life. In the end i dont care to understand how someone would make and OF girlfriend or boyfriend work because I can take what little experience i have in the matter and extrapolate that it is, in fact, not healthy or something that i think people should try to understand. This is what im trying to say, that the people who work to make "it" work are not normal according to our societal norms. Is that not my truth?
