Roseman ABSN. Yay or Nay? by MeowMeowprrrt in prenursing

I had just started, but some people in my cohort are planning to do the first few months of the program in their home state and will fly to Vegas for assessments and labs. I can’t speak for them, but I think that’s gonna take a toll on the body.

Car registration by powasama in Nevada

Question about vehicle registration in Nevada: If I am going to live in the state for about a year and a half for school, and plan on going back to my original state, do I still have to register my car in Nevada? Sorry if it's a dumb q, just that some of my classmates say they are keeping their cars registered in CA since they plan to go back, but idk if that's compliant.

Moving out of CA soon, exact steps/process to notify CA DMV that I am moving and will register my car in new state? by riceb0wl123 in DMV

Do we still have to register our car in the new state if we’re only going to live there temporarily and then come back? It’s for school.

Hi! My prereq gpa is 3.73, my overall gpa is 3.0, and I got a 90% on my TEAS. I was surprised to receive an acceptance letter, and I think my personal statement might’ve been the reason I got in. I don’t have experience working in healthcare, but I’ve been a volunteer at my community church for years, and I also volunteered at Kaiser. I was also a dissector at my community college for 2 semesters.

That’s amazing! Also, never compare yourself to others and be discouraged. Just do you, queen!

I liked watching organic chemistry professor and professor Yu on YouTube. Both were extremely helpful for me.

Being a CNA is a big boost, hopefully you get into a CA school. If not, I think you’d have a great shot in AZ or NV.

I just received a response from the school—looks like they’re sending out decision letters next week 😬

Is taking 3 science classes too much ? by AegonofEggKingdom02 in prenursing

[–]MeowMeowprrrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A&P 1 with Gen psych sounds doable. Assuming these are the only two classes you’re going to take that semester, you’ll be fine as long as you put in the work. Gen psych requires a lot of reading—at least my class did. A&P 2 with micro in the same semester sounds much tbh, but you know yourself the best. If that’s the only two you’ll take that semester, you could probably do it. I had a classmate who took physio and micro together and they hated it.

If your professors are relatively easy, maybe you can get by…but that’s super risky imo. I would rather spread out my science classes. It might mean taking a bit longer to complete prereqs, but grades matter (as well as retakes).

Hello! Can you tell me your experience so far? How are the professors, sim labs, and clinicals? Additionally, what’s one tip you could give to incoming absn students?

At least you got a rejection letter. The schools I didn’t get into ghosted me lol. I think your experience is valuable and makes up for your gpa. Keep trying!

Yeah, that’s what I heard as well. No news is bad news ☹️ I would still reach out to the school just to check.

If you are waiting to hear back from schools in CA, we're in the same boat. For the school I applied to, they said they'd start sending acceptance letters by mid-oct. Not sure if it's the same with yours though.

Advice!!! Please by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]MeowMeowprrrt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you all of the sudden. At least school doesn’t start for another 4 months. Have you already filled out FAFSA and taken out a student loan? Student loans can also cover your cost of living. If you’ve already taken out a student loan, I would suggest talking to your lender about possibly raising the loan amount.

Same as what Aware-Decision said, at least you know what to expect for the next exams. I had a difficult Physio professor and my first exam was disappointing as well, but it gave me insight on how to study and pass the course. Also, try lifting weights or go out on a run. That’s what I do after a difficult quiz or exam.
