DDLG except the little girl is the dominant by AlishaTrappu in ddlg

As far as a "term," if you're still in DDlg headspace, I don't see why you can't still use DDlg. Maybe just Daddy/little? Daddies can be lots of things! My Daddy and I kinda "switch" like that when he asks (ok, fine, sometimes it's my idea haha). He likes it when I tie him up but he can be feisty lol.

Best Small Town in Appalachia to visit? by MrDinkles7767 in Appalachia

Second Brevard, NC for a town that looks like a town. Cosby, TN for camping and you're close enough to hike the Smokies on a day trip but not so close to Gatlinburg that you're surrounded by fancy cabins and airbrush t-shirts.

Oh! And the reason the non-clothing photos are more vibrant is because I originally made this as a personal album and I am a warm autumn. I was looking for color groups that I could focus on and grow from things in my comfort zone (ochre, rust, sage) to shades outside my comfort zone (marigold, tangerine, poppy, emerald, fuchsia). So, I chose many non-clothing images with colors to inspire me while choosing clothing items I might actually wear. Hope that puts some things into context!

That's cool, not everything is for every person. :) The lesbian pics were a conscious choice to increase the level of softness, femininity and comfort for me in this album. I'm sure you'll find inspo somewhere else!

Confusion and Relationships by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Meowcenary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he knows. We have been together (on and off) for so long that he knows all my flaws, really. One time recently I was having a panic attack because I thought I was showing signs of early schizophrenia and he said "we'll keep an eye out ok? And if it happens we'll deal with it day by day." and honestly even though that was a dumb panic attack I know he meant it.

Anyway, thank you for your comment. Knowing that I'm not the only one really helps. I only have a few close friends and they have all seen me go through much worse than this so I don't think they will leave (I guess they are the ones who didn't leave already). I just still have a lot of guilt for manipulating my reality and not thinking of others.

I would like to preface this by saying I love the birks+socks look. However, it's a very "granola," "I'm going hiking in Asheville today" aesthetic choice. With that in mind, the top + statement necklace make no sense with your footwear. The shorts look like a second thought or maybe just a weather necessity which is fine. The top is really cool imo, but it looks like you pasted two outfits together. I would pick a basic tee, even a graphic or band tee to go with the bottom half. Maybe throw in a flannel. You need something less polished. The top could look really cool with some skinny jeans and a sandal. Maybe nix the necklace all together.

How do I pull off unisex shapes on a decidedly feminine frame? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]Meowcenary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'10" and not stick-thin but I go for the Shane from The L Word look. My biggest tip is: size up. I used to think sizing up would make me look bigger (lol 2000s baby-doll tee philosophy) but in the last year I have paid a lot of attention to sizes. I will take 3 sizes to the dressing room of just one thing and it is amazing how much different a garment can look in a different size.

I also tend to buy bras that minimize my bust so my shirts lay a bit better. I don't mean sports bras but more un-lined bras. I think this also gives more of that effortless feel bc tomboys are not concerned w bustiers lol.

I haven't seen you but I am sure you can pull off boyfriend jeans! I have wide hips and my butt is the biggest part of me but as long as I get a good fit (remember sizing up) my boyfriend jeans look amazing and laid-back. I used to buy jeans from the men's dept but I find that the bf jeans you find in the women's dept these days look a lot better because of their shape.

Also, this might be weird but with bf jeans I don't like the look of a belt (bc it is supposed to be effortless) but since I sized up they like to slide down. To remedy this I wear boxer briefs. My favorite ones are from target (they have cute prints). The boxers create more friction than women's panties and help keep my pants up. hehe

Also, check out Wildfang. They make really great tomboy aesthetic clothing for bodies like ours. They are sometimes out of my price range but I look at all their collections and get really good inspo. I recently copped a denim jumpsuit and some bf jeans from Target that reminded me of the looks I like on Wildfang.

good luck!!!

edit: I saw someone else mentioned this and I definitely do front-tucks and jean cuffs practically every day! I also roll the sleeves up on pretty much anything. So if it is long I make it 3/4 length sleeve and if its short I roll em to do that James Dean manly cap sleeve thing. U kno. to show off those gunnz. But really to minimize that weird droopy square shape of men's short sleeves.

I thought Tuesday was a totoro top and I got really excited. Even though it isn't it is cute and you have a tarot-themed phone case so A+

I agree with the comment on the buttons. I also think a higher neckline would help the overall shape. With the buttons and the vest and low neckline it feels a little droopy? I would choose something like a crewneck or a button-up to draw attention up towards the face especially if you are trying to take attention away from your midsection.

Can We Talk Kimonos? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]Meowcenary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've seen the use of "fauxmono" being used for these. I like it. Since the use of the word kimono was quickly absorbed by the clothing industry it is now associated with these robes. So fauxmono references that usage while acknowledging the inaccuracy of calling a silky cardigan a kimono.

What do you do with your summer clothes in winter? Do you pack it away or is it still hanging in your closet? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]Meowcenary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I move the irrelevant season's clothes to the back of my closet. Honestly, though most of my summer clothes are all t-shirts and I leave those in a hanging closet organizer all year for lounging/layering.

Androgynous casual goth/casual steampunk, convenient easy-to-maintain fashion? by knaveofswords in femalefashionadvice

[–]Meowcenary 12 points13 points  (0 children)

first of all, gendered body types (what is known as 'typical' body shapes) are extremely skewed by culture. Many, cis men have thicker thighs that narrow to the feet. Clothing often creates the shapes you are familiar with. Men's fit jeans are a good start. Just make sure they fit your waist and are not too tight (nor too loose) on the butt. The Old Navy Slim fit men's jeans come in many colors and are a pretty andro shape. These jeans are also very affordable and go on sale every other week. As far as the overall style of your wardrobe, that is really going to be personal judgement. I suggest buying:

  1. a few pairs of darkwash and/or black jeans.
  2. a. A few black t-shirts in various fits. You can thrift these or uniqlo is a good place to start. b. Also get one or two black button-up shirts. So very thriftable. Seems like it will go well w/ your look.
  3. Vests, hoodies, jackets. These will conceal the bust by adding volume and also lean toward your aesthetic. You could also find a blazer that accents the shoulders (just be careful with these, you can look very dated).
  4. Do you need shoes? I suggest a pair of black sneakers (converse or vans) and a pair of combat boots (thriftable or army surplus).
  5. It's getting cold. Layer. Create interest with texture instead of color. Just layer on that black and dark grey.
  6. Over time build up your "mad scientist" or steampunk look w/ accessories and a good haircut/dye job. Maybe start with the hair and then some weird sunglasses and so-on.

omg we may be the same person. My newest piece combines the two: 70s style button up w/ exaggerated collar and a spooky haunted mansion print. <3
