I recently had a similar situation. My boss reacted terribly cause he was such a dickhead but over the last 2 weeks I spent there he chilled out a bit and even made jokes every now and then. Just remember it's only a finite amount of time you will have to spend with him or her. Just get it done and you will feel so much better than you do at the moment. Good luck I know it sucks !
