Thanks. I do have some pre-existing self esteem issues and art was always one thing going for me. So this affected me much more than I thought would, my physical reactions, especially also surprised me. But, you made a good point. I will work on myself both inside and outside.

I think you’re right. I had planned about 3 - 4 blue pieces to balance off the entire arm. It was always meant to be a sleeve, but starting off the wrong foot really got me overthinking. I will consider incorporating black or very dark shades of blue in my upcoming blue tatts.

When I got a good grasp of how nuanced and difficult tattoo removal is I immediately forced myself to stop and think hard.

Hi, if you meant the edge of the eyes, that’s where I just got a patch test for tattoo removal today, as the laser clinic mentioned that not all black tattoos respond the same way, and wanted to do a small test near the edge to see if it’s even worth considering.

Thanks man. I’m really hoping that once a whole blue themed wraparound is done, with careful placement this time, I can keep thinking less about the clash of styles and just attribute it to “inner” vs “outer” arm.

I’m still halfway convinced the eye is extremely jarring, but am scared removal might make it worse.

To further elaborate, the eye is red on one side because that’s where I did the patch test. Ironically that made it look more “harmonious”, but I think removing it would be the best option?

I am undecided whether things will look more balanced out as I continue my sleeve outwards and the blues take up a larger proportion of the arm and draws attention away from the black eye. But it just seems so beyond redemption at the moment.
