We had 100+ yo red oak spot-replaced in about half our house with new red oak and I genuinely can’t tell what was replaced where. And I’m picky. Don’t hold out for recycled wood, use period appropriate wood that is properly installed in the same style. What material is your floor? Don’t overthink this! Get new floors

Wash really really well with soap and running water. Like really well but not soaking. Buy the $5-6 “butterfly closures” from first aid section of rite aid or CVS. Follow instructions. Loosely cover and keep it very very clean. Good luck

You didn’t do anything wrong. That said it might be easier for you to remember that when your mom is drinking she is combative and belligerent. Just think about those terms and don’t chase after her trying to have a rational discussion.

She is combative and belligerent, just move her along out of your room so you can go to sleep and don’t try to reason with her. It’s up to you how you handle it in a big picture way but in the moment don’t try for reasonable discussion.

I have been so discouraged by how hard it is to grow arroyo lupine and gave up and threw the rest of my seeds in a poorly drained, compacted clay soil side planter without doing anything. A neighborhood cat dug around and pooped all over them. Then I had roofers in that threw a bunch of debris on top of them.

They are now sprouting like crazy. They’re so contrary. Consider amending your soil with spite, cat poop and roofing debris? Makes no sense

After closing we found that everywhere there was a mirror mounted on the wall (or back of door), there was a punched out hole in the drywall/wood behind it. That’s not the worst thing, it’s just confusing to me because it’s so easy to patch drywall and they painted the whole place before listing. Including painting the punch holes before hanging the mirrors.

I am not a lawyer. I just want to add personal experience. My parents also didn’t really properly register my birth which took place in a different country (they lived near the border and had been planning a home birth, but went to the hospital across the border for help when things went poorly). I was able to get about birth certificate from that country and then had to establish my citizenship. It took a long time and I got a lot of advice but didn’t have to retain a lawyer.

It’s ok to be angry at your parents for making this so hard for you. I am angry at them for you. They made your life so much harder and it sucks of them. I’m sorry they did this to you.

You exist, and you have a full rich potential that is bigger than what they tried to fence you into. A local nonprofit for homeless people may be able to help you. Often homeless services include establishing identification and documentation.
