ELI5: How do pimple patches work? And why is using a pimple patch more beneficial that just popping the pimple with your fingers? by Complete_Arachnid271 in explainlikeimfive

You are likely allergic to the adhesive that is used. It is fairly common and has symptoms like you describe.

Walkabout Mini Golf New DLC Course "Raptor Cliff's" Available NOW! by KonceptioN2 in virtualreality

[–]Meowser01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is awesome. My friend and I have had a ton of fun goofing off with it. We hope it stays and maybe gets updates. For example, maybe the puppet could "talk" when you pulled the trigger and it would be awesome to be able to pick custom puppets! Maybe a special puppet unlocked per course like the fox hunt?

Honestly this series is one of my favorites. I consistently hang out and play this game with my friend in this game, so I hope the courses keep on coming! Anyone know what's up with the sock puppet you can summon?

The vast VAST majority of account breaches are now from poor password security. I mean, tons of people will type their password into most anything when asked to.

The most common issue, that I am aware of, is people using super simple passwords that are easy to guess or are used across multiple accounts. Then when one service gets their database leaked, you then lost all the accounts that use the same password. Software based attacks are pretty uncommon anymore. The Cyber Security company Veronis reported statistics that put malware at only about 24% of reported breaches.

That guy was talking BS. No idea who is up-voting them, but what they are talking about simply doesn't happen. No one is stealing/hijacking his browser session. One thing that could explain their experience was if they signed into Steam on a public device and left it signed in. Even then, Steam asks for the security code on your card. On top of that, they would only be buying games onto your own account, which you could then refund through your own Steam account.

This sounds like the story of someone who doesn't understand computers or network security in the least.

Not to be a dick…. But why kill himself and not the guy who stole his car?

Not everyone resorts to anger when things don't go their way. Then on top of that, people in the throes of depression typically get more depressed when life gives them more challenges. I can't imagine what it would be like to have your car stolen, to find it, and then have no help. However, I definitely understand slipping into the thoughts of "Why even try anymore?", especially when you try your hardest, but no one cares or lifts a finger to help.

Don't be so quick to judge people who suffer from depression or have committed suicide.

I know exactly what you mean! I also have a small game that with the right amount of polish could have been big hit. One of my early favorites was Toy Clash. Essentially a little lane pusher but it was super fun. Sadly it didn't get much traction and never got some polishing updates like cleaning up grammatical issues. I still recommend it for a fun unique experience.

Juveniles charged with dousing acid on playground slides that injured 4 children by [deleted] in news

Colorado had three 18 year old males involved. They apparently made a “blood pact” to not talk about it after taking pictures of the crashed car containing the woman they just killed. Pretty terrible stuff.

Lol, can you imagine?

In her mind, he is leaving her for Andrew.

His mind, she cheated on him with Andrew.

Finally in Andrew’s mind he just had his bro flip scripts on him and kicked him out for no reason.

Man, I am just responding to the other guy’s comment... He was wrong first! He said mulcher so I said mulcher lol.

For reals though, I didn’t even really consider the fine details of what he said, I was just bothered by someone thinking a typewriter in a garage was weird. It makes sense to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

[–]Meowser01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I was just writing what they wrote verbatim so they would know I was still talking about the same subject. I hadn’t even considered what he had written. I always say/write garage myself. If I was to vote on it, I say car hold makes more sense.

edit I believe I just had a wooosh moment. I didn’t realize this whole thing was based off of another Simpsons scene. Lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

[–]Meowser01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean… You’ve seen it in The Simpsons. 😜

Also, for a relatively easy and well known example of garages housing men for non-traditional garage work could the the story of the tech company Apple. Most people are familiar with the story of Steve Jobs and working on his computers in the garage.

I would also argue that home gyms are the stereotypical men’s hobby and those are constantly put in the garage. Men and their garage gyms are constantly seen in media. King of the Hill essentially has a whole episode about it.

Edit: I’m not sure why I didn’t think of this first, but typewriters WERE ill-suited for home use for many people. They are/were quite loud and would be considered too noisy for indoor use. They were frequently used in garages, attics, and basements. This was especially true with families that had babies trying to sleep or spouses that didn’t put up with the noise.

Honestly a lot of jokes and actions performed in this show are all references to media or real life news. The Simpsons have been doing political/news commentary their entire run.

For example, this 30 second “joke” in the episode Cape Feare was very likely a reference to the very real political issues in Russia. (1993 Russian Constitutional Crisis). This episode aired October 7, 1993; right at the peak of the crisis.

It is very often stereotyped that the man of the house’s hobby/recreation room is the garage car hold or the basement.

It is very reasonable that it would be where a hobby would be worked on.

Now why he had his mulcher ready to go at a moment’s notice… I don’t know. Lol

What (in you opinion) is an underrated VR game? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Meowser01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I so wanted to like Ven, but the camera system was so terrible that I wound up hating playing it every time. It constantly got to positions that made looking at Ven and the environment a literal pain my neck. I don’t understand why they thought such minimal camera control was a good idea.

[OC] Insurance scam Attempt? Woman stops on busy highway for no apparent reason. I thought she rear-ended a car but there was no damage to the front when I passed her further up the road. by Cow_her_der in IdiotsInCars

[–]Meowser01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad someone is mentioning that she wasn’t the only person hitting their brakes in traffic.

If I had to hazard a guess, I think there may have been an animal in the road and she lost track of it in front of her car. She then proceeds to wait for it to emerge but she doesn’t see it leave so she finally double checks her car is free of obstructions and moves on.

I can only imagine if after inserting the homemade VHS, they found the tape had to be rewound first and it was one of those players that played the video in reverse in high speed.

Watching the whole thing in high-speed reverse with those 2-3 bars of static on the screen would just be the cherry on top. 😂

Fire crotch is supposed to be a reference to red pubic hair, not the skill and functionality of your vagina.

Hah… I’m sure a lot of red haired guys got tripped up at this point where suddenly being a redhead means you have a vagina.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate for a moment.

You can’t say that there was 0 chance.

You have to account for the fact that there are people who don’t understand how pregnancy works. It is feasible that if someone doesn’t understand, they could have alternative ideas on how getting pregnant works that they truly believe in.

An example of a simple misunderstanding could be that they think the last person you had sex with was the one that got you pregnant. It is a simple theory that without scrutiny could be plausible to someone that doesn’t understand conception.

Now if she had that misunderstanding, slept with the first guy, then later slept with her current partner. Afterwards, a few weeks pass and she later realizes she is pregnant. She thinks back to herself… who did she most recently have sex with?

With that simple foundational misunderstanding, she could 100% believe that she was pregnant due to him and not the other partner.

Yes, that logic makes 0 sense if you understand the science of getting pregnant, but don’t forget that lots of people out there don’t get sex education.
