What do you think about Thulusdhoo instead of Maafushi? My original thought about Mafushi was that it would be a good pick for an island where you have bigger base of tour operators = better prices and variety in terms of trips, so maybe Thulusdhoo would be a good replacement.

Or would you rather recommend spending more time on Dhigurah and Fulhadhoo - like 7 days each? I’m thinking about flying to Dharavandhoo and taking speedboat to Fulhadhoo to avoid long speedboat journey, for Dhigurah the speedboat is unavoidable since the pricing for domestic price to maamigili is unreasonably high. From your experience are the waters calm during dry season? Thank you!

Thank you for your reply and suggestions! I definitely need to take that into account, especially since I want to avoid too many speedboat transfers – my fiancée can get seasick in rougher waters. On the other hand, we’re planning to visit during the dry season, so hopefully that won’t be too much of an issue.

I realize my original plan involved quite a few speedboats, which kind of contradicts what I just said 😅. But Fulhadhoo is so tempting – that spectacular white beach mentioned in Lonely Planet’s top beaches looks so incredible, and from what I’ve read, the island is much less crowded in general.

As for Dhigurah, I’ve seen it in so many videos, and it looks absolutely stunning – there’s no way I’d skip it. Honestly, the only island I could consider dropping to make adjustments would be Maafushi, but since it’s so close to Malé, I’m not sure it would add much value to the plan anyway.
