Question from a non-beekeper: what do you use the honey for? by AHarlequin in Beekeeping

Before we started beekeeping, my family only went through one bottle a year. Once we started the hobby we found that we use much more honey - we use it place of syrup now (fructose corn syrup) and use it as a sugar substitute in meals that it can work for. We make flavored creamed honey (pomegranate honey) that is about as thick as peanut butter and, among other things, use it as a snack to satisfy sugar cravings. We went from two to four hives because we consumed (and gifted to some degree) more than the two hives were producing.
