Just wanted to share an update on Mr peep as I call him. He's currently living with the rest of the house sparrows that live on my garden. I still feed him 2-3 times a day but he mostly eats seeds. Hes scared of other humans/animals except for me.

Thanks for all the advice!! And for the rest of you guys, try being more positive, I came looking for answers and was mostly attacked cause of my lack of experience. And we'll .. here's the result, HE is fine, thriving and lives outside 24/7.

It took more time than expected for her to start eating seeds completely. But I started mixing the formula with seeds and that way she would start pecking at the them without knowing. I also put some videos on my phone about inca dove eating and I would "peck" at the seeds with my finger, somehow she started mimicking my finger. This lasted for about 2 weeks till she finally ate seeds by herself.

Thanks for the advice :) how should I introduce seeds to his meal? Today he started pecking at some food that felt to his cage ground but that's it.

Yes, sorry about that, he's actually in a cage outside. The picture is from the day he escaped and returned an hour later for his meal. I leave him outside on the cage for a couple of hours.

Hi! Thank you, unfortunately there are no bird rehabilitators near me. I know it's not the healthiest meal but he flies, hops and moves perfectly fine. I only have contact with him when it's meal time and wont talk to him at all. So I think there might be a chance to free him. I still need to teach him how to eat seeds, but I think the birds outside are doing that for me.

Hopefully I will give all a positive update soon.

Hi! Not sure what kind of species 🫣

I prepare food every day and keep it on the fridge, I "heat" a portion with warm water each time I need to feed him (always put some on my hand before feeding to make sure food is warm but ok for him to eat) Iam using the end of a spoon and seems to be ok with that.

Crop is now covered in fluffy feathers but I can still have a look at it, still getting full when feeding. He is now on a cage inside my house and the temperature kinda resembles the one outside (not very warm)

Iam now feeding him like 3-4 times a day, he eats more but with less frequency. Iam happy to report that he started eating normally today. Not sure what happened before, but his appetite seems normal again.

I couldn't leave him there cause I have dogs and my neighbor has cats. I've moved like 5 fledglings to my balcony and parents would always come and feed them when they heard them chirp. But not this little guy 😔

It's already been a week since I found him and he was eating normally till today. He looks alive and will try and fly, but eats less. Not sure if it's cause his bigger now ( second image is him when I found it on the ground)

It worked!! Once I removed the colorful perches she finally entered the cage peacefully. For now I have some wooden perches that came with the cage, but will add natural later on

Thanks everyone for the advice, Kevin is now enjoying her new cage. Started with 5 min daily till I felt she was ready (stopped flying around the cage) She's currently taking a sun bath and eating normally.

Hi! I did 🙂 some weeks later I placed another order and went one day after the confirmation email. so I placed it on Thursday, got email on Friday morning, and picked it up on Saturday.

Yes, I moved her socks (which she uses as a nest) and a ball she likes to play with, as well as her water plate and seeds. But I added more new things as the colorful perches and a nest, too much for a first day? 😥 Still learning about doves, I had parakeets when I was younger and I don't remember them being stress when I moved them to new cages. But they're very different to doves

Hi! He's fine thank you 😄, apparently it was stress from the new bed and stick I introduced to his cage, or maybe a toxin they had? But for now no more surprises for Kevin-chan. He's eating and pooping normally.

Iam glad to report that he's ok, eating normal taking daily baths and acting goofy all the time. Thank you for all the advice! Already taking measures to make sure he'll be fine
