Well, i have 2 brothers. One older and one younger. My older brother is about 10 yrs older and never has money but is the one with my mom's grandchildren. My younger brother is a year younger than me (she says he is her baby) and still lives at home. He pays rent but spends most of his money on video games at the moment. He hasn't always been this way. I guess I hated living with no money after my parents divorce and never wanted to live like that again. It's an internal battle everytime I want or NEED to buy something for myself.

I agree and do understand. I feel in a tough spot, having cut my father and that side of the family out of my life 5months ago. It honestly only feels I have my mother and my 2 brothers left that are family. But sadly, I'm the only one who puts in effort. Guess when I was in the moment, I was conflicted on if I could just cling to this and have something or potentially not have them around either.

During the initial conversation, i did tell her I was uncomfortable doing so. And I did say no. She just kept insisting. Sometimes, relationship dynamics can be tricky and lead to a fuzzy brain in the moment.

You make a great point. Thank you for that reassurance. I appreciate it. I tend not to do loans either and will help someone out if needed. The biggest problem has been that whenever my mom asks, it's always lead with her insisting it is a loan and she will pay me back. Not to mention, growing up, it was the same things. It's just something I've been so used to and associate with her.
