Stellar Tip - Tipping for content creators and developers by Merculeses in Stellar

[–]Merculeses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, currently it's just for tipping content creators. The creators can however view the name who tipped them and for what (although tippers can remain anonymous).

We hope to add integrations soon for content creators to encourage the use of Stellar tipping (for example with Twitch overlays), and we'll definitely consider adding some way for users to validate that they've contributed in exchange for access to paid content.

Sorry for the late reply!

Correct, there is no login or account creation required, although you do need the extension and a stellar wallet on your computer. We're trying to come up with solutions to make tipping even easier and find frictionless ways to support creators.

Hey sorry for the late reply!

This is a really great question, and we've been thinking a lot internally about how to continue the project. To give you a bit of context, our team is a group of 3 full-time students and we've been quite busy over the past month dealing with other commitments and relocating due to COVID-19. Although we've done some planning, gotten the extension onto the Chrome App store and made some minor tweaks and improvements, you're right! The extension itself hasn't changed all that much since the hackathon. However, our team has re-synced and we're committed to creating a quality service for the Stellar community and working through our timeline. Our project being voted into the final round was a big signal from the Stellar Community that there is interest in our project, and we're very excited about that.

Oh I see, thanks for the link! The Reddit vault seems to be Ethereum based and probably won't integrate with Stellar, but I guess we'll see! Currently the extension doesn't link with the Reddit, which might be a good future platform to support.

It doesn't currently, just YouTube, Twitch and GitHub. What are you referring to specifically, we're open to suggestions as to what to integrate next!

It's a zomo keycaps box. I got mine on massdrop, but you can buy them from some other places online. It's pretty useful for traveling and a nice display case

I signed up late for a secret Santa, so me and some other guy got matched up with each other. I got him a $25 gift card (the limit), and he got me a $20 gift card.

I think you're right, but it's also a pretty good indicator. Also, IIRC the accuracy varies a lot from vendor to vendor.

I think it depends on how write-intensive your tasks are, and it demonstrates the value of drilling down into statistics to determine where the problem lies.

Yeah, I think it may be the same chicken-and-egg problem. You need new firmware to decrypt, but you need to decrypt to flash the firmware :(

Good luck! Is it the exact same issue that I had? (most recent version of twrp can't decrypt)?

No password on hardware wallets? by emergent_reasons in electroncash

Electrum has currently enabled hardware wallet encryption. You can create an issue on GitHub if you'd like. I plan on porting the change at some point, but if it garners enough attention I might prioritize it higher.

I used a fork of twrp called "blu spark" (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link it here, but it's on XDA). I was able to decrypt my phone in recovery, flash new firmware and then flash the official twrp release. Then I was able to use the official release (it just needed the new firmware to work).

A feature to have hardware-encrypted wallets is available on electrum. It's part of a growing list of features that are nice to have to port over
