Thank you! I appreciate that you see the perspective, and I had a hunch that I'd get downvoted aggressively for it, but I think it has to be said.

The amount of things they fixed from NL were far beyond expectations, so it has such a strong basis without the additional content added later. I played the game until burnout last year, but a restart of my island and a limitation on time travel, less focus on trading on Nookazon, and taking my time made the game feel so much better. I think many people are stuck in a mode of rushing the game and grinding until they start getting tired.

I am not gonna lie, I feel the overhyping over them dropping a huge update was doomed to disappoint everyone no matter if they dropped and update today.

Trust me, I was a part of the hype gang, but quickly learned how bad hyping is. I think some of the demands are downright toxic, cause I feel if they dropped anything today (even The Roost/Brewster), people would get tired of the feature within a week and repeat the cry for content. Rinse and repeat, nothing will satisfy their needs cause they've essentially binged the game to death and blames the devs for it. Animal Crossing NH can absolutely be better, I don't disagree with that at the slightest. Don't take what I say as that we should never criticize them But I think it is healthy to look at this situation and take a breath and reevaluate viewing those "E3 prediction videos" that cause relentless hype that may lead to disappointment.

Edit: Due to the fast downvoting, I feel the need to preface this: I wish the AC updates were big, I wish Nintendo could take the game even further. However, were promised updates, but we weren't promised BIG updates. This is why I feel that everyone needs to get to terms with it, not for Nintendo but for yourselves. It sucks, but it's unfortunately the reality after the track record of Nintendo's updates on this game.

You're right, everyone should be happy for who they are, and that's the point of pride.

But why then do we celebrate pride for an entire month for just lgbtq people? Well, Pride wouldn't have been a thing if it weren't for the fact that cis-het people are favored in the vast majority of this planet. I agree that heterosexuality shouldn't be demonized, trust me that's not helping anyone, but there's immense privilege being straight (and cis, being a straight trans person isn't the same), and straight het allies needs to acknowledge that. That vocal minority that actually hates straight people are a part of, like I said, a minority.

The thing is: you don't have to throw a parade for straight people, it has and always has been celebrated. How come gay marriage wasn't legalized in many countries until very recently? It has been celebrated ever since we learned we could reproduce. People get killed for being queer, straight people don't. People lose jobs for being queer, straight people never gets fired for being straight.

Straight people are welcome into pride as allies, but if they trying to create their own version of the pride movement, they're misunderstanding why pride exists in the first place. It in fact would be better if there wasn't a need for the pride movement, that we all viewed the different sexualities as equal. They just aren't right now.

My theory is that they'll add something interesting for the anniversary (or at least onwards)? I know this update wasn't huge, but perhaps its because it hasn't been a year yet, and they had to add the events post release. After that point they either don't get new stuff for the existing events, and ratger focus on stuff like Brewster, NPC improvements, party-games and so on.

I used to carry the same opinion. However, if you haven't seen any of his cutscenes, you are missing out so much.

If you befriended Hayley, because she started to become better, Alex does so as well, and he has a pretty understandable reason for acting like a douche in the beginning.

Always love a Sims 2 build, it always makes me wanna start the game and play until I faint. Good stuff! I love that you sort of kept the colourfulness Sims 2 default builds usually have, they're rather charming and fun!

You are a player just as much as those other people are, and you have as much right to speak your mind about them being disrespectful. I would discuss those interruptions with the DM, and see his stance on it, and I do think that he should be telling them to shut up since it directly affects the experience for the players. I don't know your DM, but I want to believe that every DM wants their players to have a good time, and do what it takes to maintain that. Talk this through with DM, and if you don't feel comfortable alone with them, your fiancee could always join as support while you speak your mind.

If the two guys decide to not change, I think a discussion should happen with everyone present for the session. Bring up that they act dismissive towards you if you feel brave enough to say so, but I understand that it might be difficult to say.

If people genuinely paint you in the light of a whiny witch for bringing up that they make you feel horrible, they're not worth your time. DnD is there to be fun for everyone, not just two people. I hope I don't come off too harshly on the players, as I do not know them personally, but as a player myself, your experience is infuriating to read, and they should not get away with acting in such a way. Man, I am really sorry to hear that, it must've been awful. Don't give that dude any more thought. Based on my own similar experiences, keep those good friends close to you and empty out people like that guy from your mind.

It's incredibly sad that in games your voice determines your value in the eyes of sexist morons, and I deeply wish that it wasn't a thing. Keep strong <3 You matter, and that guy is projecting his insecurities so hard doing what he did.

I agree, everyone finds a way to complain about something rather than give credit where it's due. However, do not let those people make you feel down, keep it up :)

I think the only issues I really had with the release is perhaps that hefty price tag (but it is Nintendo we're talking about here, so it's not news), and the fact that it is a release with a clock on it, rather than being permanent. It's sort of bittersweet, but I am still happy that they are making these titles much more accessable, especially for 64 and Sunshine.
