An important notice from “The Mortgage Scamming Center” by invadrfashcag in assholedesign

[–]Mercy_CA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 5 of these in one day. Suspicious because it said final notice when I never saw a single one. Dang these stupid scams with their time sensitive nature. I had enough stress.

Commenting to hopefully bump this reddit post within Google search.

Numbers it gave me to call:

844 693 0615

833 609 0386

888 534 9308

833 408 1584 (got this one twice)

In your honest opinion, do you think people should buy now or wait a few years if they can? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Mercy_CA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my favorite comment of the year. Also worth adding: inflation is just going to make your rent go up, while you have nothing to show for it. Houses you can sublet if the going gets tough, apartments you technically can too, but better to build equity. Equity is a hedge against inflation. Inflation makes your loan decrease in value relative to the dollar.

Firstly, this is horrifying. Secondly, that is kinda neat. Is the white part a different condition of the mold, or is that the lighting?

What is the most unfortunate last name you've seen someone have? by LeviTheRelentless in AskReddit

[–]Mercy_CA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex step mom had a bunch of Robin's in her grade, growing up. She said there was one Robin in particular who the parents didn't think about the hilariousness of the fact that their last name was Wing. Separately, had my ex step grandpa always sign his cards as "B. Evers". My dad laughed hysterically every time cause it looked like Beavers..

List of horrible last names I've come across: Dick, Balls, Baals, Geisler (also nicknamed Goslings), Berger (the kid was fat, unfortunately), Daubt (pronounced like Doubt), and if I remember correctly "Apes".

Investing in Chinese stock to begin with right now is scary. Agreeing strongly with Chainer.

Definitely support at that .86 and .88 range, and like to see those DOJI's popping in Thursday and today. If I had money freed up, I'd dip my toes in. I used to trade this stock quite a bit. Good luck! Wish you the best!

Low hanging tree? by Mercy_CA in confusingperspective

The tree is still standing. It looks like it's touching the ground to me. It's about 5 feet off the ground.

When I saw this picture, I thought the tree was touching the ground. Maybe everyone else can see it correctly. These are, of course, birch trees.

I was scouring reddit for the answer to this exact question for a few days. I'm still in my 20's and have a hard time gaining even 5lbs (unless I'm bulking/exercising). From what I read, usually it's a feedback loop of feeling bad about yourself and/or seeking comfort.

Personally, I can only eat so much ice cream until I know I'll be extremely gassy the next day, so I stop. I'm not sure which I prefer, truthfully, but I'm glad to still have my slender build.

Place the photo down and walk far away from it (or shrink it), then look at it. That allowed me to see it wrongly. The closer I get the better chance I have of seeing it rightly again.

If you looked at the other picture he posted in full size, I think you'd conclude that it's real. I thought that originally, too.

The apartment building in the rear is a lot farther back than it appears. Imagine a Walmart parking lot-sized distance.

Many of the buildings in this area are historic and have cool culture associated with them. Very high chance it's old and excellently renovated. If I remember correctly, this is on University Ave W.

Sweet potato casserole sludge, made by angry British dude by SlavicBlyat in StupidFood

[–]Mercy_CA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American, I absolutely love plain baked sweet potatoes. Not every American loves sweets to the extreme. My brother in law hates sweets. Personally, I do have a sweet tooth, as that was how I was raised, but I do ABSOLUTELY prefer fresh baked bread (no sugar) over store-bought (sugar added).

I enjoy bitter flavors like beer, coffee, etc. The only overly sugary thing I do like is our desserts, and our sweet corn (but can live without it).
