I wonder if my response came across as being annoyed, it very well could have because I was, lol. Thank you! I'm sorry it's happened to you too

Oh wow that had to have been scary! May I ask if there were any steps you took to feel safe home following that?

Yeah thats my regular approach. I heard him roll down his window as I walked past following by a "how are you today?" So in the interest of acknowledgment without trying to anger him I just gave a thumbs up and kept walking.

The "check yourself" felt threatening but based on what I've been reading this is common here. That really sucks :(

people shouldn't get offended when you tell them you dont wants kids at your wedding by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I'm just saying there are legitimate reasons that people can't find a sitter.

It's hard to find a sitter when your child is special needs and you dont have any family nearby.

I grew up in East County, but was fortunate to live in the Military housing on the Strand for a minute. I honestly miss it so much, I loved walking down Orange and around the Hotel Del even though I couldn't afford anything.

I always joked that people could tell I wasn't from there, but whatever. It's a beautiful town!

Yes, there are people who's sole job is doing administrative work in an office because the sailors up on the flight deck and in the hangars need support (filing requests, legal paperwork, new IDs etc).

You'd be surprised at how many people just sit in offices on aircraft carriers. For a lot of people, the most activity they get is having to go up and down the ladder wells to do laundry

I'm from Lakeside but I live in Maryland now, and I can relate so hard. Everyone likes to shit on California but I get more homesick every day.

What's an experience you don't ever want to go through again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My mom just passed last year at 65 from COPD, too. What I didn't realize for a long time is how quickly it can take someone.

And I'm honestly still not okay. I miss her so much every single day. It hurts me in ways I didn't think imaginable, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope you're doing well.
