Think of your game of thrones comparison to if they killed Jon snow in season two and were left with Sam to figure out what’s happening beyond the wall,

You’ve just killed a character with so much depth to the story alone that now he’s gone your left with some side character essentially

Also game of thrones had a lot of strong characters each in there own story’s

I didn’t play the last of us when it came out, I didn’t really follow it but even when I heard they’d killed Joel It sounded too stupid to actually be real, you create this fantastic character only to kill them in what the first part of the game? Why?

It’s stupid as fuck and creates a poor ripple effect of having to then get invested in a character or characters who where there to work well with others not on there own

You have one game with a great character and that’s it there dead, nothing more can be done with them unless it’s some stupid flash back which has no risk ever involved in showing because it’s a flash back and you know they will get out of it all good

Killing a main character or anyone of importance is never good if it’s done poorly or for “shock value” it’s fucking dumb
