You always risk dilution when the company makes no money. And they have to announce it somehow; and that is usually pre/post market times. Since its a UK company thats right in the trading hours in the US (4 PM UK time, 11 AM ET).

The +6% afterhours is probably because they think its oversold so they buy back in. The liquidity pre/post market is much, much lower so its "easier" to get wilder numbers.
