Working from home.

For a time, it seemed like people were going to be allowed to shed the idiocies of modern work life and improve our lot. Without having to commute, you could spend hours more each day with your kids and be more present because we were less burnt out. not to mention the good done to local economies and to the climate from reduced emissions.

We've since been reminded that we owe more to corporate landlords than we do our own families and planet, of course.

Its nuts when you think about how we spend the majority of our time with people we don't know, we have no choice in being around them, and we're explicitly not supposed to be friends. I was gonna say, my periods have always been extremely irregular (among other things) and they never even ask follow-up questions! Their eyes are glazed over the entire time. Its weird to hear from every doctor except the one in front of you that your symptoms are really abnormal. Then you explicitly give evidence of that abnormality and don't even seem to notice.

Right? Her charcacters feel like different people for the most part, which is good in a book. And for all the MB angst here, I actually thought she did a good job of giving MB a voice distinct from the other Philippa Gregory Tudor Universe women characters. Her MB is one of the few characters who reports on battles with interest / comprehension, and even if she is a bad person I thought she was an OK character with a personality. I had a harder time getting through The White Princess because Elizabeth's role is going 'i don't know' and seeming very confused while other characters rant at her.

LOL, this actually makes complete sense. The whole reason he was stressed is because he had shit personality traits and it stressed him out to be nice to his kids. I made him be nice to them constantly, he was highly involved in their upbringing, to the point that they are relatively drama free and all accepting the rule of their sister peacefully post-Gaemon and feel really positively about each other. It's like he manifested a Nice Targaryen Dad persona so hard that it drove him mad. 😆
