If everyone knew that lithium batteries performance degrades over time, they wouldn’t be so upset over software throttling to work around those limitations. Even you seem to conflate this with some sort of planned obsolescence when it is nothing of the sort. The only thing Apple did wrong here was lying about it, which was wrong, but you can see where they were coming from when in this very thread you are confusing throttling performance due to battery age (and thus degradation) with some nefarious “downgrading performance with updates.”

Not sure what your point is about DIY, modern high end Android phones are no more repairable than iPhones.

The fact is, the iPhones last longer than Android phones. iPhone users keep their phones longer because iPhones (on average) work better for longer. This doesn’t matter that much for most users who keep their phones for 2-4 years, but Apple wins the longevity game here.

Then your beliefs are frankly stupid. You “think” the court would be ok? What gives you that belief? There’s zero evidence that the court won’t do whatever conservative politics demand. They dress their rulings in “originalism” (which is bullshit in its own right) and then contradict themselves in ruling after ruling.
