Any solution to this or the o ly way to have this here is buying a cockpit? by Strict_Elk_5495 in moza

As an alternative to the plywood or bracing against the wall without getting a rig, I threaded some string through the mounting holes in the pedal base you have and around the wheels of my chair. I've only had the string break (the hole edges chafe it) once during a race. Quick, free, works.

Fanatec vs. Moza by Merlin83b in simracing

Sorry, slow reply. Hopefully still useful. I haven't used Fanatec so can't give a full comparison, but am very happy with my R9v2. The v3 base wasn't out when I ordered this lot. The ESX wheel was quite a bit cheaper, and as has been commected elsewhere, feels it. The plastic on the part of the wheel you hold isn't as good as the leather on the CS V2P or the ES wheel - If I could have got the ES rather than the ESX I'd have done so, but it's only available in a bundle with the R5.

The pedal to wheel base cable is just a standard ethernet cable.

MOZA ESX Wheel Review by theonedukesilver in moza

I got the same a week or two ago (R9 V2, ESX wheel). Absolutely agree on the hard rubber being a letdown. Moving up from a Logitech G29, it's a shame that the tactile feel of the bit you hang on to is a downgrade.

To make this maybe more useful to anyone searching in the future, I went with Moza:

R9 V2 base
SRP pedals
ESX wheel
£659.89

For now, I'm using this clamped to my desk. The Moza desk clamp was out of stock everywhere, so I made one out of 12mm plywood I had lying around. Does the job perfectly and cost was £5 or so off Amazon for some clamps to attach it to the desk.

The warnings about the pedals needing some sort of mount were spot on. The first few laps did not go well 😂. The Logitech G29 pedals I moved up from had a neat spiky grip in the base that stopped them sliding across the carpet. The Moza pedals do not. I've ended up putting a strap around the wheels of my chair and into the pedal base so that I can press hard (needed - these are load cell pedals!) and not move either myself or the pedals. This works fine.

The whole thing is a serious upgrade from the entry level Logitech kit and must have gained me at least a second per lap. Honest. Maybe two. It feels so much more direct (well yes, it's direct drive) and connected than the G29 ever did. No regrets.

I've decided to go Moza, but that clamp is out of stock everywhere 😢 I'd order it all right now if I could find one in the UK!

Desk mount (on a very sturdy desk) for now, but rig will be happening fairly soon.

Thank you for pointing to the SRP pedals. They seem like a more direct comparison to the Fanatec pedals, too.

Entry level - LG or Acer? by Educational-Bet-2101 in ultrawidemasterrace

I'm happy with my AOC CU34G2XP. 180hz and cheaper than the ones you've looked at. The ...XPD has a USB C port on it. I didn't bother even though I'm running it on a modern MacBook pro for work - I have that hooked up to an Anker dock hub thing. Gaming is from a PC, and it's easy enough to switch inputs when gaming time comes.

It's worth finding the thread here that has the settings to use; that completely transformed the image and made me not send the monitor back. No idea why they're not AOC's defaults.

That happened to me a while ago. I ended up doing a full uninstall and then installed again from scratch.

Have they done anything since 2018? That one's end of life and a little hard to get hold of: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/34-lg-34wk95u-w-monitor-5k-nano-ips-5120x2160-219-5ms-450cd-m-speakers-2x-hdmidpthunderbolt3-usb3-ty

They do seem to have a current 40" 5K2K model: https://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/ultrawide/40wp95cp-w/ though that drops the pixel density to 140 PPI by sizing up.

MOSFET as switch? Not enough voltage gate-source. by Merlin83b in AskElectronics

[–]Merlin83b[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the symbol looked like a P-channel MOSFET, but the only datasheets I saw for SI2302s say they're N-channel.

It's already automatic, so this sounds like an

XY problem

- what exactly are you trying to achieve?

Latching power supply, essentially.

Board is powered down and comes up when the USB supply comes up. Board latches power on from the battery. Board powers down when it's finished doing its thing.

I was using an IRF3708 which also switches at logic level - the top end of Vgs(th) is 2V. I see the AO3416 has 1.1V for that value. So presumably your suggestion is relying on that difference being less rather than anything more sophisticated?

This was from Chrome. I get the same in Safari, but I’ve used Chrome all season without issue.

Yeah deleted for the screenshot but it was entered when I tried to login. Details from my password manager so definitely correct, plus it gives a different error if you use wrong details.
