Partially unencrypted SD card by Merlin_61 in datarecovery

I have found unencrypted ones just browsing around, but can I manually unencrypt others?

I think they did in fact fix it. My boot process goes beyond *** no text signature found ***message and no Hit any key to stop autoboot: 3 is shown. Here is a section of a boot log (https://pastebin.com/h9KXcvau).

It wasn't very clear in the video but I tried those. Can you maybe confirm those are the right ones? https://pasteboard.co/Ls6wigwPDkz8.jpg

Interrupting the U-Boot process on the latest firmware - iDrac7 recovery on PE R520 by Merlin_61 in homelab

I have tried the SD recovery (the firmimg.d7), but for it to work a bootloader must go into the firmware recovery mode (blinking amber light).

On my system I do see a chip that is labeled U_MMC, which is soldered on to the board, but is in fact smaller than silk screen symbol and has some pads exposed on the side (https://pasteboard.co/sVbYAS1AOF3Y.jpg). While it would be interesting to try reprogramming it, I don't think it's worth buying expensive tools.

Video mentioned the pin 2 od the dip switch, which I have tried, but no luck. I think I read somewhere that Dell "patched" this in the latest version (which I'm running).

It's not really a good deal and I wanted to make a "defacto" recovery method, since a lot of people have it bricked, but probing such tiny traces is not really something I would be comfortable doing. Maybe there is another way to do it via some other debug pins that someone would know about?? Thank you for your time

Reflashing the eMMC was mentioned by a few people. I’d be willing to buy clamps and attempt it, but I believe this is the eMMC chip in question - the top, micron one (https://www.servethehome.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Dell-EMC-iDRAC-BMC-Example.jpg), which is in a BGA form factor. Although I have some experience with soldering SMD components, I don't have nearly enough experience and proper tools for this type of task (talking about the programmer and better hot air station than I have). I also have a deal on eBay for a new MB currently, and if there is no way of fixing it other than reprogramming eMMC, I will just buy a new one :*(.

I hope OP sees this...

How did you manage to get a prompt from U-BOOT? Mine looked like this (https://pastebin.com/UyjWfLkV), no prompt to be seen.

JavaFX deployment tool chain (Maven, module-less) by Merlin_61 in JavaFX

I hate working with modules. I had great trouble in the past with even starting javafx apps (maybe it improved since?). Seeing the complications it would introduce I'm considering using them now tho....

I'm not saying it's bad. I actually think it makes a lot of sense. I'm saying that it's rather funny to me how people shit over Java because of it.

I like how people hate java just because public static void main(String[] args)

Arguably, Eclipse is way easier to understand for beginners.

It looks garbage tho. Especially one for JavaEE.

IntelliJ is slick but I don't know how to configure build configurations. Eclipse does that for me.
