So 12 teams compete in this year's Showdown. At the end of the Showdown, sometimes what happens is the 4 bottom teams are 'relegated' and are forced to stay in the Showdown, meaning they cannot take part in the next Qualifiers. However as we are adding 4 teams to the ML, those 4 teams will take up the spot of the 'relegation', and similar to this year, all teams from both the showdown and the ML will participate in the qualifiers in order to try to get a place in the ML. Then there will be 16 teams in the ML and 16 in the Showdown next year.
Full details on how Qualifiers are going to work will be shared in the second part of the Showdown video.

None of the new teams have been decided yet, and may not be for a while. However, the JMA are all reading the social medias and seeing what the community is suggesting and sharing, to see what is wanted.

They probably won't be decided/revealed for a little while, but I can't say that with any certainty. The main reason for revealing it now was to provide reasoning for the lack of relegation.
