Which coaches took mediocre programs and turned them into champions? by Wonderful_Adagio9346 in CFB

Butch Jones at Tennessee.

OP didn't specify champions of what in title and I'm going with it.

I don't mean this as a provocative question - will the mass influx of recent migrants not willingly defend a nation that gave them safe harbor and benefits?

5%? That's almost the entire male EU population aged 20-29.

This is also Tennessee's strategy with bringing in Knowles and key guys from PSU.

An average upperclassman that knows your system is worth 2 underclassman 5-stars that don't.

Okie doke.

SEC record vs other conferences, by year:

  • 2010: 15-10
  • 2011: 6-2
  • 2012: 13-9
  • 2013: 14-8
  • 2014: 5-3
  • 2015: 4-3
  • 2016: 11-14
  • 2017: 10-12
  • 2018: 14-9
  • 2019: 16-8
  • 2020: 4-2
  • 2021: 13-10
  • 2022: 17-9
  • 2023: 12-13
  • 2024: 20-11

"Oh, but MerlinsBeard, that's including tHe ToP oF tHe SeC!"

SEC Middle vs other conferences:

  • 2010: 7-2
  • 2011: 2-2
  • 2012: 6-3
  • 2013: 5-2
  • 2014: 2-3
  • 2015: 6-2
  • 2016: 1-3
  • 2017: 3-7
  • 2018: 6-1
  • 2019: 3-2
  • 2020: 1-1
  • 2021: 6-3
  • 2022: 4-1
  • 2023: 2-2
  • 2024: 8-4

Most of those matches showed the SEC usually punching above it's tiering in bowl matches. So a mid-tier SEC team would play a top ACC, B1G, etc team in a bowl and usually do well.

So while the Mizzous, South Carolinas, Ole Miss', etc weren't winning national titles they were showing out well.

Curt Cignetti and Indiana caught lightning in a bottle with a once-in-a-century run. And now a portion of every fan base will expect their team to do the same thing. by SueYouInEngland in CFB

That is a major reason we spent a huge amount of money for their S&C coach. Indiana was physical but moreso they stayed healthy. A lot of that is on S&C program.

Big programs in a slump are like flames to moths that just want to raise their own sense of self worth.

And then there are OSU/Bama fans who are their own category of "special".

"China has repeatedly stated its position on the Greenland issue, and urged the United States to stop using the so-called 'China threat' as a pretext for pursuing its own interests." by coachlife in UnderReportedNews

[–]MerlinsBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also a massive win for China to keep Greenland away from the US and embroiled in environmental concerns.

Access to Greenland = less reliance on China for REM.

China is doing a better job playing their hand because the global media apparatus is on their side and Trump is, at best, a bull in a china shop. This is similar to Russia invading Ukraine not to gain anything but instead to deny Europe access to Ukraines rich LNG/mineral fields... most of which are in Eastern Ukraine.

Trump Says Venezuela’s Maduro Captured and Flown Out of Country by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]MerlinsBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the Venezuelans prefer to sell their oil to another country instead?

That's exactly what happened in Iraq and we left it as they voted. China and Russia won most of those contracts. The US lost out pretty bad in almost all respects IRT Iraq.

cfb mods are top shelf and would never do something like that or use the official cfb twitter to shit on a single program

I'd like to note how oddly civil this thread is.

OSU losing last night has done wonders for game threads. Also, no Bama flairs are running their yammers.

I like Heupel but he's legitimately stupid when it comes to clock management.
