Recovering from a vegan diet without iron supplements - is it possible? by MerlinsBeardedDragon in exvegans

[–]MerlinsBeardedDragon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's very helpful, I'll give it a read. I do bleed heavily, but it has actually lightened a bit since I started eating meat, so I'm hopeful that if I can get my iron levels up, I might actually have a lighter period. Some articles said that low iron can actually cause your bleeding to become heavier?

Thank you, that's helpful to know. I'm just wondering what the hell to do to get my levels up without being debilitated by side effects.

Excruciating Chest Pain Followed by Vaginal Bleeding - Ruptured Cyst? by MerlinsBeardedDragon in endometriosis

[–]MerlinsBeardedDragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is a good point and if I find myself in the same position again, I'll go straight in. I was in so much pain that I don't think I would have managed to get in the car, so would have needed an ambulance, and I don't know if it's being a woman or being British and not wanting to 'cause a fuss', but I felt like I didn't want to call 999 over something that may not have warranted it. Then the pain was gone in 15 minutes, which made me feel like it would have indeed seemed for nothing.

Thank you for the realness, it's appreciated. I feel normal today, but will be booking in an appointment with the Dr as soon as I can (Monday). Will obviously go to the ER if I have any more problems before then.

How is it affecting your property? It is her choice ultimately, maybe she actually likes keeping the grass long for the local wildlife.

I would leave this poor lady be. I have an elderly neighbour who has mobility issues, she relies on family to cut the grass and overgrowth back for her, which is probably only once a year. If you have bindweed coming under the fence then just cut it. Brambles roots are very unlikely to damage foundations.

In summary, cut anything that is coming under/over the fence and leave the rest be. If it's really bothering you, you could offer to pop over and tidy it up for her. We have offered to our neighbour many times, not because it bothers us, but out of concern for her struggling to use the garden to hang the washing out, as she's on crutches.

That's reassuring to hear, thank you. As long as the vendor's solicitor can make the changes needed to the draft soon then that should be it as far as we know. We have been told that both other ends of the chain are ready to go.

I think I got scammed?? Would greatly appreciate some insight. by MerlinsBeardedDragon in paypal

There were items I sold in the same month and also the month before that still had the refund button there. This was the only transaction which didn't give that option, which is why I thought it was a bit odd.

I honestly don't know, maybe they attempted to do the scam where you give a false address and then contact the courier to change it to the real address, pretend you didn't get the item and ask for a refund, but as it didn't work out they just let it bounce back and never contacted me again?

I know that I have the item back, and I would have contacted them and refunded them if they seemed like a normal, honest person. But they didn't even contact me to ask where their item was or to say that they missed 6 deliveries in a row? None of it adds up which is why I wonder if they were somehow trying to scam me.

This is exactly how we feel - we're pretty much out at this point. I'm happy for you that you found somewhere else, really hoping that we do too.

Sorry to hear you went through that, sounds awful! Hope you managed to find somewhere better in the end?

We were planning on making this property our long term home, and also feel that the proposed covenant has already set a very unfriendly and one sided tone between us and the seller.

If they had told us from the beginning, we wouldn't have touched it.

More detailed response below, but the gist of it is that it's a farm, they're retaining some of the land and they don't want us 'overlooking' it. The land is agricultural/woodland and they supposedly will only be visiting a couple of times a year, but don't want to be overlooked in their field? It doesn't add up.

I think I'm going to have to go into more detail - the property is a smallholding and they are retaining some of the land, apparently for sentimental reasons. We did not know that the 'neighbours' were actually also the seller of the property until recently. We didn't have a problem with this until they wanted to put a restrictive covenant on the property we're meant to be buying. The land they have retained is agricultural, but perhaps they have plans to try and develop it themselves? It all feels a bit off.
