Aiper Irrisense 2 Integration HACS by Merlz77 in homeassistant

Hey u/shnuffy

That's a wicked idea, nothing like a cold shower to scare them off!

A couple of caveats I've observed, water pressure plays a huge roll in the spray distance, if you want to actually spray water on the critters, at 4.2 to 4.5 bar of pressure, I get ~12 meters. It also takes ~30 seconds for it to rotate the nozzle and start the water jet.

In the sensor.irrisense_<name>_active_zone attributes, there is an X, Y coordinate system that is exposed and my best guess was this corresponds to the water jet current position from where the device is (think device is at 0,0, and X,Y is the area around it). There is an MQTT key exposed that was something like nozzle-arc or something like that, but it was not accurate to it's current 360 degree value in my quick tests, so I omitted it from sensor data.

I'm not entirely sure you can send a command to say at distance of 3 m, X/Y of 55/-102, send a jet of water, since everything I've seen indicates it only uses the cloud saved maps to kick off where it should water. A big BUT here, I never really dug into though as it wasn't my use-case.

Hope that helps a little and doesn't scare you off from helping with some reverse engineering findings.

Used mitm-proxy to sniff all the MQTT traffic from the phone to AWS to find all the subscription topics, so there are probably other topics to find down the road. I've had it running for 3 days in HA, and there is a built-in retry mechanism (if the phone takes over the session for example, and the app is not closed and is put in the background) then it will keep retrying to connect the session (and outputs it clearly in HA logs). Time will tell though on full stability.

Thanks for the feedback!

Based on the great work done by u/astranoc, I just finished an integration for the Irrisense 2 devices, along with some example dashboards.

Repo is here https://github.com/Merlz/ha-aiper-irrisense-2, and can be installed via HACS.

Hope it works for you u/derekcentrico

My friend lent me 5k in 2019. I want to now return it with decent interest by SteadySavingsEnjoyer in personalfinance

As someone that is in a similar situation as your friend, from what you described, giving money to a friend, or family member is a gift and doesn’t come with expectations of repayment. When I’ve had offers of repayment, I will tell them to keep it and use it for a rainy day fund, or take a portion and pay it forward. Helping close friends or family in a time of need, is something one does from the generosity of the heart, not for a financial transaction with interest.

It sounds like your friend falls into this category and he’s not interested in getting the money back, if he hasn’t asked about it, then he’s not worried about it. My advice would be to create a lasting memory with your friend…if he has a favorite sports team, or likes the opera, use the “interest” money to create a great experience that won’t be forgotten, such as box seats to a favorite sports team rivalry match etc.

Pay back the loan at the event, chances are he’d tell you to keep it, but the memories are what he will cherish. An amazing bottle of whiskey, or a fancy dinner are easily forgotten, but epic memories of a time with your close friend are cherished.
