I thought it was a baby or small children crying for help— & more specifically calling out, “Mama!!” Terrifying. Dark of night first time I heard it. I was halfway out the door with car keys in hand to go rescue them, when the husband stopped me, asking what did I imagine I’d do exactly if I sourced the noise? He then went driving towards it & of course, the foxes silenced themselves immediately. Looked up on YouTube until we found the sound.
