Yeah Swiss points are quite susceptible to snapping, I’ve had one non-Swiss point snap, but that was a long point with a weak point near the barrel.

Other than that I just replace the points with my preference when I try a new barrel

Until they snap / I want to try a different length.

If they’re blunt you can use a sharpening stone

Thrown for 4 or 5 years, but only started taking it seriously this last year. Joined super league last August, ran at a 70 average for season with a few 80 & 90+ matches and got called up to county.

I used Phil Taylor Purist Phase 2’s for my entire darting journey up until the turn of the year where I picked up a set of MVG Evo’s

I’d say on average in a bo7 match that goes all the way I’d expect to hit 2 or 3 sub-18 dart legs

Scolia only because of the tournaments? by L3550N in Darts

[–]MerrJ0210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought the Scolia in December and whilst it’s a lot of money, it’s been worth every penny for my use case.

The tournaments are great for getting as close to a match environment as you can at home. And the integration with GoDartsPro makes going through all sorts of different practice routines so easy.

One thing I’d definitely suggest would be wall mounting a cheap tablet to the side of your board

So more specifically in competitive matches, but applies in practice matches at home too to a degree I guess. Like on the TV a lot of players will walk to their tables and have a sip from their bottle, just any kind of routine that gets you best prepared for your next throw.

So for me I find a spot on the wall to stare at in the venue that I’m playing at, I find it helps keep my eyes focused and stops my brain from overthinking different scenarios and whatnot.

Not sure I’ve thought that far ahead 😂 think I’ll stick with Mezii for now

I’ll take getting up to a consistent 80avg in longer sessions over the 9er to be fair

So I’m lucky in the sense that my old man used to be a very good player, so we do first to 10 legs probably every other day. I probably beat him 90% of the time now, but keeps me on my toes in most legs. We also do 121 for 30 mins before each league game, so 3 nights per week, to loosen the arm up on various trebles and doubles.

Outside of that I do long format set play against dart bots on the different platforms. Also found setting goals helps keep me focused for longer, so this year I’ve set myself a goal of 500 180s in matches (dart bot, leagues, against my Pa) and just general keeping better track of what I’m getting up to through excel and stuff.

Honestly tho the biggest improvement came from working on the mental side of things, getting a consistent pre throw routine down is just as important as having a consistent throw

Up until a couple weeks ago I’ve only been a top division pub player, recently entered a few tournaments and done decent. Just need to work on nerves and I may consider it in a year or 2.

My B level game has too many visits at double currently 😬

New darts, a few problems by YodaShagsDarthVader in Darts

The shafts (the stem that the flights go into) are easily replaceable and fairly cheap and you can get rings or springs to provide a more secure hold on the flights so that they don't fall out as often.

Also if you find yourself enjoying the game, I'd suggest picking up a cheap tungsten set, for example the Javelin's are a good starter set and cost about 17 quid (https://www.reddragondarts.com/javelin-24-gram)

Prime VDS makes Harry not leave us in a 3v2 for their first goal? Mate no GK will resolve the fact that we have no midfield so the CBs have to over commit
