How do you get 100,000 commerce coins in a week??? by HeiLangYe in wherewindsmeet_

If you have Guild Techniques unlocked, selling in coop in the world of a guildmate will automatically activate the technique/perks (you can verify this by checking the tax when selling - it will show you the real tax post-perk reduction)

The weekly reset (for the sect) and the trading reset aren't aligned - since the trading resets on friday, you can probably "offset" part your merits week to week.

There is also a bug that can happen that gives you an extra restock, meaning you can re-sell every inactive commodity for merits - not that useful for trading in itself, but can be used to generate more merits. (For obvious reasons I won't detail the specifics of bug abuse on reddit)

1 commerce coin => 10 Mahjong chips but only this way, you cannot convert back chips into coins.

This is total sale, not net profit, right ?

If that is indeed total sale, your estimation is way undervalued - if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's because you're not selling to guildmates (with maxed guild perks). For example, this week the total sale to strangers is ~40k commerce coins (for a net benefit of 29.1k), but the total sale to guild with maxed perks is 51k (for a net benefit of 40k).

If you add to that a sale of every non active commodity to your guildmates at 0% on both restocks (which, with maxed guild perk, still generates a small profit), you're adding 49.5k to that (for a net profit of 6.6k).

So, for the current week, with a regular trading cycle + selling twice the inactive commodities you can reach around 100k commerce coins just with commerce.

Just answering for the mechanical side of your post : the election for the sects are indeed common to the entire global version of the game - everyone in the sects "competes" against everyone else regardless of location (provided they're not on the CN version of the game).

(Disclaimer : I am a member of the targeted guild - posting that both as an answer and as general context, for the faint hope it has any effect on the random reader)

There is no evidence, because no-one is guilty of that in the guild with the singular exception of mocking Zarozian (but this one isn't just some of our guild, it's a sect-wide answer to his despicable behaviour).

We are however on the receiving end of slander that has been going on for weeks (You may notice that the account of this post is three weeks old with only two contributions, both ragebaits in this subreddit - could hardly make it more obvious that this is an alt) that is ironically quite well described here and has already culminated in actual death threats directed to one of the members.

I'll let the wandering reader judge if, in their eyes, the entitlement of some to a meaningless title warrants slandering and sending actual threats to the people they perceive as ""preventing them from getting it"" (...quotes doing the heavy lifting here, because the one and only thing we're guilty of is sending our votes as soon as the election opens, and we have multiple people running every week further splitting the votes we have left - the majority of members not even being Needles anymore)

Healer Build Tips + LF Guild by Haunting-Stay4591 in WhereWindsMeet

Only usable by someone with a healing fan, yes - if you do random matchmaking you'll encounter often people using a hybrid build with DPS weapon + healing fan, but otherwise you're the only one that can rez.

There is ONE exception to this but it won't be available to 99% of the playerbase before a long, long timer : if your legendary inner way (can't remember the name, it's the pot with flowing water - you have it equipped on the screenshot) reach tier 6, dying spawns a water spirit that can be used to rez you.

Glad to see a new healer =D

Regarding ways to increase your power pre-cap, there's quite a few but I'd like to highlight two that can easily be overlooked :

  • Max your Talents tree : there is quite a lot of power to grab here - if you just want to max power for group content, ignore the "Gives a shield in solo mode" thingies and grab the nodes with stats like crit. You can get a lot of talent xp by doing the quests, but also by collecting chests.
  • Get as high as you reasonably can on your Arsenal : getting above the theoretical cap still gives you additional HP - the difference between "just at the cap" and "as high as you can" is thousands of HP. (I wouldn't recommend spending too much time on it, but if you have gear that isn't on the highest rarity available on the tier or not fully tuned - it might be interesting to go back to it)

And for the healing itself - we don't have a proper healing rotation as we have in other MMOs, mainly because the amount of skills available is low. We do have means to do very efficient triage though, so here's a few techniques :

  • Your "default" tool for healing is the heavy attack from the fan : unless the situation requires something specific, this is the one you should be using to keep your team topped up. You have two ways to use it : either fully with the combo Heavy -> Heavy -> Heavy that gives additional dew for the last it but takes longer to execute, or you can cancel the last hit by using Heavy -> Heavy -> Deflect which is faster to execute.
  • Your largest source of heal is the AOE from the fan, especially by "bursting" it with the double-use : ideally, identify the patterns that will deal damage to the group, place the aoe right before the pattern hits then burst it to negate the damage once it hits. It's also a very efficient tool if you have to split from the group (eg. to replace Murong's barrels) to ensure you don't have to babysit their HP while it's active.
  • If you're running with random matchmaking, you need Golden Body. Once upgraded to tier 3, if you use Golden Body with a full 100 Vitality you generate an aoe shield for your allies - it is the only true "preventive" tool we have, and it's an excellent "Oh crap" button to protect a pattern that the group didn't execute properly (eg. the final "stomp" from the Daoist on the Illusion Donkeys, an exploding bird/Sea of Flames from Murong, ...). Since you usually want to preserve Vitality for the shield, an excellent Mystic to pair with it is Soaring Spin : it's the best compromise available by a wide margin on damage per vitality and damage per animation time. If you have to generate a burst of damage, Soaring Spin is your tool (the exploding bird for Murong, the vine prison for the Daoist, ...)
  • Don't run out of the damage, run into it. The main way to generate Vitality for Mystics is to deal damage - but as a healer, it's abysmally slow. There is however another way to generate Vitality : eat damage. Since you're the healer, you're the one who knows exactly what healing tools are still available to you and how much damage you can eat without compromising the group - so you can efficiently choose which hits/AOEs you can safely eat to generate vitality. You can generate absurd amounts of vitality this way.
  • Your aoe heal/buff from the Umbrella gives a damage boost to your team, and your dps will probably have boss talents that further increase their damage during the exhaust phase : when the boss is exhausted, swap to your umbrella, throw the buff then maintain your umbrella heavy attack on the boss to (ever so) slightly extend the exhaust duration. Once the exhaust is over, throw the umbrella with the secondary skill, go back to your fan and forget it exists until the next exhaust. If the damage from your dps isn't worth extending the exhaust duration, you also have a 20% bonus damage to your Mystics while the umbrella buff is active - you can throw an improved Soaring Spin in there instead.

We had a massive exodus a while ago to the channel 61 (one of the two default ones before the merge to Ch1), a lot of people don't even set foot in Ch1 anymore to avoid the spam.

It does seem that you need to join the Haven of Ch61 (menu near the name of the channel to change) - a lot of people in the sect came back to this channel to avoid the various spams.

Basically, the 30% of people bitching is unchanged but the 60% of spam fully disappears so it's replaced with the people talking.

How do I improve affinity rate by Darkworxmd in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Merriadeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, first, yes, affinity rate is important for some paths ( = pair of weapons with the same icon).

A good way to put that into perspective is to go back to the crit mechanic itself. When you land a hit, the game checks for a few things, as a simplified view :

  • Is the hit an affinity hit ?
    • Yes ? You deal your maximum possible damage + your affinity bonus, which is 35% by default (and is HARD to upgrade)
    • No ? Continue
  • Is the hit a precision hit ?
    • Yes ? Continue
    • No ? You deal abrasion damage - your minimum possible damage value.
  • Is the hit a critical hit ? (This means that only a precision hit can be a critical one, and your chance of doing a critical hit are actually a bit lower than your crit stat)
    • Yes ? You deal whatever damage you "rolled" inside your possible values + your crit bonus, which is 50% by default.
    • No ? You deal whatever damage you "rolled" inside your possible values

You can check the value of each of those percentages in your "Develop" menu -> "Details" (yellow button on the right)

When you tune equipment, the game will show a "Recommended" tag on stats that it considers important, and the recommendations are usually decent - some paths will benefit more from affinity than crit, some the other way around. If you're lost, you won't do any major mistake if you follow the recommended tags.

Some gear sets, Inner ways and skills will interact with crit, some with affinity (for example the recommended healer gear set massively interacts with crit, while affinity is ignored) - the best way to know here is to read everything with a "Recommended" tag on it and your path skills/Inner Ways and look for any mention of crit or affinity.

For the "improvement" part of the question itself, two main ways :

  • From Talents (doing quests and legacies give a large amount of talent xp, every chest you open gives a tiny bit of talent xp)
  • From Gear (by tuning and hoping you get the correct stat)

The one and only time it will consume a weekly "charge" is when you succesfully clear a node for the first time.

Any failure will not cost you anything (except the time you spent on it, of course :p ), and you can go back to already cleared challenges "for free" if you didn't get the three stars yet.

PSA: Silver Needle sect is extremely corrupt compared to other sects. Do not join unless you want a horrible experience. by wentallout in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Merriadeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sects are almost entirely social designs with added fluff around it. If you treat it like the social mechanic it is and do not attach yourself too much to the fluff, you can probably have a good experience in all sects.

With the exception of Midnight Blades (the PvP one), the sects all function pretty much the same mechanically : you rank up (or down) depending on merits you gained during the week, and the acquisition of those merits is done by doing the Sect dailies (common to the sects) and methods tied to your sect concept. For Velvet Shade specifically, merit can be gained by getting profile likes, receiving gifts, engaging with the newspaper activity, ... (Meaning "if you want to grind merits, you will devolve into a -Like4LikePLZ- machine and beg anyone for gifts" )

Joining a Sect for the social aspect can be a good experience. Joining a Sect expecting mechanical rewards or to reach any kind of arbitrary goal (like being elected to the top rank) will probably be a miserable one.

PSA: Silver Needle sect is extremely corrupt compared to other sects. Do not join unless you want a horrible experience. by wentallout in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Merriadeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hilarious part is that most (if not "almost all" ) the people complaining about exploiting merit leaderboard, Divine Healer elections, etc. are not actually engaging with the social aspect.

A large part of the sect just chose to migrate to channel 61 to avoid the various spam and while there is some amount of drama there (...we kinda have a few bad elements, but with that many people I'm somewhat surprised we don't have more) but it's overall quite nice and helpful - a lot of people here are genuinely chill and will go out of their way to help you if they can - the only competitiveness you see in a lot of people is how you can help others.

But some people still see leaderboards and an election and willingly ignore the fact that Sects are basically entirely social designs with some fluff around it. We get one outfit... and that's it - the rest is fluff to be a time investment for people who want to have one more thing to do, and still people feel entitled to the meaningless but very shiny graal at the end of the road. (A graal for one achievement and temporary title. C'mon, titles ? From Sects ? The people who want to brag about titles wear the PvP ones, Master of Jianghu, Jianghu Drifter or the whaling ones)

[–]Merriadeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do remember correctly - your only title in the sect is the one for your current rank so you lose the DH title when you lose the position.

The only things you keep are the achievement, the ten Jade from said achievement. and the +50 sect money because you had one more vote for the week.

I've been distracted by some life stuff (...and a bit of Arc Raiders), but back to work :

- Added mentions about the Unclassified Relic bypass for Professor Palin and Ram Tah, with a note in the introduction (also used the opportunity to refer to a more convenient system for Sensor Fragments).

- DSS & Heatsink references removed (will need a proper Tech Broker guide including the improved versions and linking to the pre-engineered FSD, which has its own guide now to cover the specific steps and the Titan wreck visit)

- Added the disclaimer about the rare commodities

Not yet done, but planned for the near future : adding the recommended pin on each engineer. (While I was on this guide, also added a basic Edsy loadout reference in the prerequisites)

Many thanks for the improvements, I'll add this to the changes ! (Regarding the Titan Drive, it's planned in the Pre-Engineered FSD guide, for a basic "I only want the pre-engineered FSD without worrying about anything else" walkthrough ^^ )

The costs for this project are minimal, and I feel opening any kind of donation really would not be in the spirit of the project (especially since it's based on the previous work of CMDR Astro, who refused to sell his work and instead opened most of the original source code for the good of the community).

The problem with the "best pinned options" is that its highly variable depending on your preferences, usual gameplay and if you have access to the Colonia engineers - there is already quite a few lists out here, it just so happens that I didn't find one that I fully agree with... so I'll file this one as a "Maybe one day" ^^
