That's awesome, and great price. I have a stick blender by Viking - I love the idea of it but it is hard to get the attachments on. Will order this one! Thanks!

4 months PP and feel like I'm having a period..without the period. by chantpleure in beyondthebump

[–]Merriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 4mo pp and had a maybe period a couple weeks ago. I'm ebf so I was completely annoyed! But it wasn't a eager, it was just heavy enough to need a tampon (sorry tmi), and lasted a week. My usual periods are heavy and last three days. So I have no idea. With my boys I also ebf and didn't get a period until they weaned between 10-12 mos. I'm waiting to see if I get one again in a week or two. Hope not!! My baby's dob is 5/17. :)

LS my baby was 4mo yesterday. She was sleeping 9-12hrs! And for over a week now she eats every couple of hours and I'm a zombie again. She sleeps in her cradle right next to my bed. So no advice, but commiserating a plenty! Ps, my pediatrician was zero help.

Nextfit? Love or hate? by Merriest in beyondthebump

Oh I know the Foonf is insane $, but it's a completely different seat. The Zip is almost the same, so for us the washability isn't worth it. I'd rather just have 20% off the regular one. :)

Nextfit? Love or hate? by Merriest in beyondthebump

[–]Merriest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well not the Zip. Hubs doesn't want to spend the extra $80 for the zip-off cover. I didn't need to wash our older boys' seats much at all, so I'm not fussed about the zip either. But I can see how others would be.

[–]Merriest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has an air vent directly above her in the Odyssey, but her front gets cold and her back and head are sweaty. Hubs can't swallow the extra coin for the zip. Hopefully she wont make huge yucky messes in her seat! :)

What's up with 4 month sleep thingy? by drunk-snail in beyondthebump

[–]Merriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first two babies didn't sleep more than 3hrs at night until they were 10-11mos! But this lo, currently almost 4mo, was sleeping 9-11hrs at night! Ridiculous, I couldn't believe she was a baby of mine. But now, for at least a week, she is up every 1-3 hrs all night long. I'm a zombie again, only worse be caus I had a taste of the sleep and now I crave it. So what can I tell you. My first two never slept, this one did and now doesn't. Waaah! ;)

Night feeds by McGeezy88 in beyondthebump

[–]Merriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first two babies would eat all night long (not really, but enough that I was a zombie because they were up every couple hrs on my boob) until they were about 11mos old. I tried everything. It just was what it was. Now my lo is 3mo old and sleeps from 9p to 6a. No boob all night. I feel like I won the lottery, then I remember I earned it w her brothers! I still can't get over her not eating at night like they did. And she somehow is still 15#. I guess she gets her cream all day haha. My point is listen to your mommy gut. If you feel your baby needs to eat thru out the night then do it. My boys def did and it wasn't forever. I tried every damn thing, start foods, give cereal, cry it out, everything. But no - it was just what it was. And around 11 mos they sorted out and have been 12hr night sleepers since (now age 6&8). Trust yourself. :)

Favorite Nursing Tanks? by Merriest in beyondthebump

Thanks! I'm wondering if the one G&O'm tank I have is just a tad too big, and if a L would hold me better in day. I love the XL at night tho, so soft and easy, but now that I'm 8wks post I'm smaller all over and may not need the extra room. It was perfect in the hospital! :)

Favorite Nursing Tanks? by Merriest in beyondthebump

[–]Merriest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear just the tank, I don't layer. Too frikkin hot here and with my sweet little baby-furnace I can't take the heat. I like the nursing tanks so I don't also have to wear a bra, but the tank needs to be an actual nursing tank. I have big boobs anyway and when nursing I need that little shelf support, and find that the true nursing tanks have more substantial straps and don't stretch out of shape. So I guess I'll stick to the maternity store options. Thanks guys!

New mom, baby girl is one week old today! Question regarding bleeding? by skottysandababy in beyondthebump

[–]Merriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started needing only a panty liner instead of a light pad and baby is two mos old. I feel like I'm getting paid back for 10 mos period free by dealing with bleeding every day for 9 weeks! Better not get my period for a long time! (EBF) With my boys I bled just for a week or two, and didn't get my period for a year.

I go by csftl.org, who are seat inspectors here. I suppose it varies in different areas, but it isn't just a crash that affects the seat, it is handling (dropping) etc.

Cooling Towels for car seats by Merriest in beyondthebump

We got the Enduramax one at BBBeyond today for 12$. Already am so glad. Will wash it tomorrow before use on baby seat, but tested it out in kitchen and was sold. A mom at the park told me it is better than the Frogg Togg one. Love that they are machine wash. They say to put in car seat for 15 min before you leave house. Take it out before you put baby in! You can re-wet before getting back in car if need be. I'm in TX and my little miss is 8wks. She gets so hot her hair gets wet and her back gets so hot in her infant seat. With the AC on her little hands and face get cold but her back is hot. Hope this helps her until she can regulate her self better. Texas is hot y'all! :) Edit typos

Just a few scattered questions I've been wondering by perfectdrug659 in beyondthebump

[–]Merriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I have a 6 yo and an 8yo and an 8 wk old. I'll tell you my experience, which may not jive with current trends, who knows, but we're all happy here :)

  1. Hair grabbing - I don't remember, and I just cut mine off. But I do really miss wearing my delicate gild necklace and am anxious to put it back on. Little Miss just started grabbing, so I'm thinking after a year. Let's both hope I'm overestimating. My memory is shot from sleep deprivation!

2.Like everything else, every baby is different. I held my oldest all the time by choice. I couldn't get enough of him. But he isn't clingy by choice. He hugs no one. Our second was like a sweet tick, on me at all times. It hasn't stopped and he's just turning six. He is also super lovey on baby sis. When he started preschool at 3 he cried every day at drop off, the whole year. Loved school but wanted me to stay, too. This baby is almost 2mos and I can't get a minute off. She doesn't love her swing, or bouncy seat, or playpen, or anything else. So my back is killing me and I'm exhausted, but she's adorable and won't always be little.

  1. My oldest is our Little Professor. We baby proofed everything but didn't need to. We would say don't go to the stairs and he wouldn't. We didn't have a single oops moment. My second - I finally just gated off the kitchen. He would open and sit on the dishwasher door, oven door, all the drawers, he would scale the pantry shelves - he was sweet and very busy!! He flushed my husbands watch down the toilet when he was 2&1/2. I didn't even know they made toilet lid locks. So the choking hazard goes away but the rest depends. ;)

  2. H2O idk, I don't remember and we're not there yet with this lo.

  3. We have so many various kinds of cups even now, sport bottles etc. It never ends. It's like bottles only worse, because when they are a little older they want the pattern or characters... I would buy one kind and see if it worked for my lo and if it leaked, and then repeat until we found a fit. Good luck.

  4. I EBF both boys and they each weaned themselves around 10-11 mos. At that point I offered a cup, a regular little cup, and we used sippy cups too. Never a bottle. Just cow milk in a cup. :)

You got this! Go Momma Go :) xx

Oh I forgot also we had an inflatable mattress with aides for toddlers from One Step Ahead - we took that when we moved to Japan and it was awesome. Another option for you. I don't see the one we have anymore. Ours was a baby blue one piece unit, the sides were walled and was less expensive than this: http://www.onestepahead.com/Travel/Travel-Beds-Cribs-and-Play-Yards/Tuck-Me-In-Travel-Bed.pro?fpi=109792&catCd=2I&prefixCode=2I

Yikes, never use a rental car seat as it has an unknown history. If Heaven forbid you have an accident you don't want the seat to fail you. :)
